The Akimbo “attachment” lets you dual wield pistols, firing from both hands. This gives you tremendous close-range firepower, but eliminates your ability to ADS, has poor accuracy, and drains ammo at a rapid pace.
If you want a sort of pocket “shotgun” for your LMG or sniper classes to fight off SMG users, an Akimbo-engaged pistol can serve you well. Just don’t go getting into firefights in the open with it.
