Long Range Dominance

Sniper rifles are high power, high precision weapons. With the potential to kill with a single bullet at any distance, they are potentially very powerful weapons.

However, they demand significant gun skill on your part, and if your accuracy isn’t up to par, you’re better off with an LMG or a different type of weapon entirely.

Pair your sniper with a good secondary weapon. Either spend the extra points so you can carry an SMG or shotgun, or at the very least, bring a pistol.

Like LMGs, bringing a loadout that has gear, perks, and a Rig that can guard your back isn’t a bad idea if you plan on playing a true long-range sniper.

If you are more aggressive, you can stay on the move and fight at a medium distance, but this is the hardest way to use a sniper. Practice your snapshots, you don’t have time to aim and hold your breath for a long time when lining up a shot at medium range before you’re dropped by an AR or even an SMG.

Be wary of spending too much time camping in one place. While covering a lane and locking down sightlines is smart play with a sniper, players tend to get very aggravated by snipers and make an effort to hunt them down specifically.

If you constantly change your position, you make it that much harder for retaliatory pursuers to track you down.

Sniper Rifle Notes

• The Longbow is your best bet for consistent one-shot kills, particularly when you’re on the move, but because rechambering each round drops your scope, it isn’t great for follow-up shots on multiple targets.
• The EBR-800 is a modular weapon that can transition into an AR form, giving you a built-in mid-range option for moving around the map safely.
• The Widowmaker is a two-round burst rifle, and very forgiving for sniping. If you can get your crosshairs on target, odds are the double shot will down your target.
• Finally, the DMR-M1 isn’t really a traditional sniper at all, but rather, a marksman rifle built for mid- to long-range combat. With good accuracy, high damage, and rapid semi-auto fire, it can perform very effectively at a distance if you are not comfortable with a more traditional sniper.

Semi-auto Ballistic rifle. Updated design retains the top-loading clip while granting moderate stopping power and low recoil. Allows early clip ejection.
