Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare eGuide Multiplayer Basic Training

Class Customization

Configuring your custom classes is straightforward.

You have ten points that can be spent any way you see fit. Most items cost one point; some cost two.

Some examples:

  • You can equip one primary and one secondary weapon.
  • You can equip a primary weapon in the secondary slot for an additional point.
  • You can equip one Lethal and one Tactical piece of equipment.
  • A second Lethal or Tactical item costs an additional point.
  • You can equip one perk from each of the three perk categories.
  • A second perk in any category costs an additional point.
  • One sight and up to five attachments can be added to a gun.
  • The third, fourth, and fifth attachments each cost an additional point.
  • A basic loadout of one primary weapon with a sight and two attachments, a single secondary weapon, one Lethal, one Tactical, and one perk from each category is exactly ten points.
  • A primary with a sight and five attachments is ten points.
  • A primary or secondary with six perks is ten points.
  • A primary with two Lethals, two Tacticals, and one perk in each category is ten points.
  • A primary weapon in both the primary and secondary weapon slots, each with a sight and two attachments and a single perk, is ten points.

The more you invest attachments, equipment, or perks, the more expensive it becomes. Spreading your points around lets you get more items for your loadouts.

As a general rule, perks tend to give you more bang for your buck per point, as they provide always-on benefits that you can’t get any other way.

Equipment should usually only be used if you are running Resupply on the Warfighter Rig, Stryker with Relay or Hardened, or you’re using a build specifically intended to help secure objectives in objective game modes. This goes double for investing the extra points in a second Lethal or Tactical.

Think carefully before taking extra attachments beyond the first two on any weapon.

Rigs

You should consider your Rig loadout to be part of your custom class, particularly the trait you select. Many of the traits pair extremely well with perks, and some work well when playing aggressively with short-ranged weapons, or defensively at long range.

Rig payload weapons come down mostly to personal preference, but Rig payload utility skills also work in tandem with your class loadouts to help you in specific game modes and roles. Some are well suited for objective play; others are useful for aggressive or defensive play.

Remember that you can change your Rig in combat just like your class, so if the situation changes, you can always change your Rig to suit it.

Scorestreaks

Scorestreaks should be chosen based on your personal skill level (how confident you are you can secure mid to high streaks) and the game mode you are playing.

Powerful offensive streaks are nice, but the simple UAV can help your team a lot more if you can earn it more reliably.

If you’re new, using the Drone Package to get a random scorestreak reward isn’t a bad idea. While it is definitely not the best choice for a focused loadout, it’s a good way to experiment with different streaks.

For team support, you can’t beat UAV, Counter UAV, and Advanced UAV.

For objective clearing and defense, any of Trinity Rocket, Scorchers, and Bombardment work great.

For area denial and defense, Vulture, Shock Sentry, and Warden are your best bets.

The high-end offensive streaks (THOR, R-C8, and AP-3X) are all powerful, but it’s a question of if you can earn them, rather than if they will be useful.

Remember the Warfighter Rig’s Persistence trait can allow you to earn streaks even if you die, but the cost (and the fact you can only earn each streak once with it active) means it isn’t a good choice if you want to run a low streak set like UAV/Drone Package/Counter UAV.

You don’t have to take all three scorestreaks; it’s entirely possible to take UAV only if you really just want to loop a single streak as fast as possible, or UAV/CUAV for pure team support.

Keep a custom class around that runs Blind Eye, Engineer, Blast Shield, Smoke Grenades, a secondary launcher, and a primary LMG with FMJ or Ram Servo. You can maul enemy scorestreaks with such a loadout.
