Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare eGuide Multiplayer Rigs

Stryker

Stryker Class battle rig: Equipped with gear for enemy suppression and squad support.

Stryker is a support rig, built for objective play. If you enjoy using equipment and locking down objective areas, this is the rig for you.

Payloads

Gravity Vortex Gun

Prototype launcher that fires a slow moving projectile that distorts gravity, pulling in and damaging enemies.

The Gravity Vortex Gun is an extremely dangerous weapon in tight quarters. When enemies cannot sprint or thrust jump away from the moving vortex, it is easy to rack up kills.

It is also highly effective against clustered enemies in tight spaces, whether small rooms or narrow hallways, and of course, near contested objectives.

Try to avoid using the vortex gun in the open, or in situations where you are engaged in direct combat with aware enemies. It works best when you can duck in and out of hard cover and fire the vortex from a distance to your desired target.

The vortex is a bit less effective against streaks. Save it for anti-personnel unless absolutely necessary.

Micro Turret

Compact deployable auto-turret

The Micro Turret doesn’t pack nearly as much firepower as the Shock Sentry scorestreak, but it is much easier to earn and can provide very useful covering fire if positioned carefully.

Try to deploy the Micro Turret in an area you are also covering, rather than leaving it on its own to guard a lane.

The Micro Turret can score kills on its own, but it is easily destroyed, and it is much harder to deal with the turret if you place it on one end of a room and guard the other end, leaving your enemies with no great options for engaging your controlled space.

Naturally, the Micro Turret is also helpful for aiding in the defense of objective areas.

Centurion

Deployable defense system that destroys projectiles and emits a powerful electromagnetic field.

A super powered Trophy System, the Centurion destroys all incoming projectiles and fuzzes the minimaps of hostile players with its EMP effect.

The Centurion can take a few hits, but to make the best use of it, deploy it behind hard cover near an objective, where it can intercept incoming ordnance and is difficult to destroy without first taking down you and any nearby teammates.

All of the advice for the Trophy System applies to the Centurion. Just be a bit more cautious about where you deploy it, as you don’t get nearly as many uses in a match from it.

Traits

Relay

Placed equipment will alert the player of nearby enemies on the minimap. Thrown equipment will paint enemy targets upon detonation.

A very powerful defensive and informational trait, Relay allows deployed equipment (such as trophies and trip mines) to detect nearby enemy players and mark them on your minimap.

This gives you advance warning of players moving nearby, even if they don’t actually interact with your equipment.

The second part of the trait is also extremely useful. If you hit a player with any thrown equipment—notably grenades, especially Jammer or Blackout Grenades—they are highlighted through walls.

This gives you a powerful edge in assault situations where you are using grenades to flush out enemies. Gaining perfect positional information is a big advantage to have before engaging your target.

Hardwired can protect against the effects of Relay. If you spot one or more active Strykers on the enemy team, be aware that their equipment may be detecting you if you aren’t using it.

Trophy Drone

Portable Trophy System that will destroy one incoming lethal grenade and then recharge.

A very useful passive trait for protecting yourself when trying to secure objectives, the Trophy Drone can only destroy one incoming projectile. It has a short recharge before it can block another, so it isn’t a perfect substitute for multiple Trophy Systems or the Blast Shield perk, but it is still helpful.

Taking the Trophy Drone can free you to take Smoke Grenades instead of Trophies, or you can use it as a lightweight substitute for Blast Shield.

Because the Trophy Drone trait is specifically most useful if you know you are going to be targeted with grenades, it works best if you are actively pursuing objectives. If you aren’t, there are better choices.

Hardened

Placed equipment and drones have increased protection from damage and will also persist through death, which allows you to have one extra piece of equipment active.

Hardened gives all of your deployed equipment a bit more durability, but more importantly, it lets your deployed equipment persist if you die.

This is especially nasty with trip mines or C4, and can be very helpful for your team when you have cryo mines or active Trophy Systems guarding an objective.

Hardened allows you to have a total of three pieces of deployed equipment.
