Mission Strategy
The mission setup is a simple one. Find a lone destroyer and take it out. Unfortunately, the entire thing is a SDF ambush.
When you arrive, search the asteroid field for the destroyer. After a few minutes, if you don’t find it, Salter does. Move to her position by following her indicator on the HUD. Shortly after you ID the destroyer as disabled, a huge SDF fleet arrives to ambush.
Your first move after the ambush should be to leave the battlefield. This is an extremely difficult fight on Veteran, so you can’t engage the enemies on their own terms.
When you reach the edge of the battlefield, turn back towards the center. Your first target should be the Skelters. The Skelters will probably follow you out of the battlefield and will be easy to pick off as they approach from the edge of the field.
When the Skelters are down, turn your attention to the Ace. He will be marked with a yellow hash mark. Follow, engage, and shoot him down.
With all of the immediate threats down, you can safely return to the battlefield to start engaging the large ships. Switch to your large guns and focus on the Cutters first.
Missing their fighter support, both the A-Jaks and the destroyer are easy pickings for your long-range gun. Stay out of range and destroy the ships from safety. If you take damage, retreat from the cruiser’s weapons range.
