Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare eGuide Multiplayer Perks

Perk 2

Momentum

Sprint faster over time.

A mobility perk, Momentum grants you increased movement speed. However, it comes with the restriction that using any advanced Rig movement causes the speed bonus to reset.

As a result, Momentum is most useful for traveling just a bit more quickly from place to place when you are in “safe” friendly territory, or running to catch up with teammates.

In enemy territory, it’s highly likely that you’ll be jumping, sliding, and wall running, so Momentum won’t give you as much benefit in those situations.

Momentum is only helpful if you keep your feet planted on the ground, so if you tend to jump and wall run often, out of habit, it won’t be as helpful to you.

Hardline

Scorestreak points for assists are doubled.

A bonus to scorestreak acquisition, Hardline gives extra points for assists. If you pair this with the Ping Rig trait, you can get bonus points any time you tag an enemy and a teammate finishes the job.

The combo is particularly useful when running low to mid streaks, letting you earn more of them in a match more reliably.

It also eases the sting of getting a string of assists when your helpful buddies on voice chat finish all your targets. It also pairs well with Warfighter’s Resupply Rig Trait for new players, as it helps boost the likelihood that you will get that R-C8 or AP-3X called in before the round ends.

Tac Resist

Increase resistance to flash and stun effects.

Tac Resist is a specific defensive perk. It’s not useful at all if your enemies aren’t running the Tacticals it protects against, but it is extremely important if they are.

If you have an objective focused class running Blast Shield, Trophy Systems, Smoke, etc., Tac Resist fits well, giving you protection against being blinded, stunned, or slowed.

It’s usually not worth running at all times, as compared to Blast Shield. Tac Resist defends against a lot fewer potential threats, but it is worth keeping on a backup class for situations where you need it.

Tracker

See recent enemy trails, even when they are cloaked. Hear enemies that are using Dead Silence.

Tracker highlights enemy movement on your HUD, giving you advance warning of nearby enemies that have passed through the area recently.

Be careful using Tracker; it’s easy to get so focused on following the digital “footsteps” that you walk into an ambush yourself!

Instead, use Tracker as an early warning system. When you see the signature, keep your eyes and ears peeled for nearby enemies, and expect imminent conflict.

You also need to be aware of Tracker when playing aggressively. Even if there isn’t a UAV up and you’re running Dead Silence, Tracker can give your presence away.

Speaking of Dead Silence, Tracker is the only way to counter enemy Dead Silence users. By taking this perk, you can nullify their sound suppression, allowing you to detect them again.

If you have a good audio setup and you’re used to locating enemies with sound, consider taking this perk. Whether on offense or defense, it is useful, either to find stealthy enemy players nearby, or to protect yourself when you’re fighting at long range and enemies are trying to sneak up and flank you.

Cold Blooded

Invisible to thermal detection systems. Enemies cannot see your nameplate.

Cold Blooded is a defensive perk, protecting against Thermal scopes and the FTL Rig’s Perception trait, but more importantly, hiding your red name from enemy players.

Cold Blooded’s protection from Thermal sights and the Perception Rig trait are nice bonuses, but hiding your name at a distance has a remarkable effect on enemy response time at long range, and it can even save your life in CQC fights, occasionally.

If you round the corner and your enemy doesn’t immediately react to you as an enemy (because your name doesn’t appear), it can give .you the split second edge you need to down them.

At a distance, hiding your name makes you a more dangerous mid- to long-range foe, particularly with a suitable AR, LMG, or sniper .rifle equipped.

Cold Blooded won’t stop alert and aware players from opening up on you, but if you’re already in a darkened area in cover, it makes spotting you that much harder.

Scavenger

Resupply ammo from dead players.

A straightforward and helpful perk, Scavenger lets you pick up ammo packs from downed enemy players.

Especially helpful when using ammo hungry, high rate of fire weaponry, it can also come in handy if you are using a weapon with a lot of attachments (where running out of ammo would burn up a lot of your class point investment), or if you are aiming for high scorestreaks (where you need to go on long kill streaks).

Scavenger does not resupply explosives; you need the Resupply Rig trait for that. The Rewind Rig trait can restore ammo for any weapon (explosive secondaries included).
