Shotguns are the ultimate short-range weapons. You can hipfire them to clear an enemy standing directly in front of you. Most of the shotguns in Infinite Warfare have large clips and short reload times. This makes it the ideal weapon when engaging the enemy in narrow corridors and engaging with a “run and gun” strategy.
Using a shotgun beyond short-range is dicey. Like other weapons, using Aim Down Sight can help increase the accuracy, but it’s extremely difficult to score a lethal shot beyond short-range (not enough of the shotgun’s projectiles will hit the enemy to kill him).
When equipping a shotgun from Griff’s Loadout, the Smart Shot is the go-to scope to attach. It makes hitting enemies with the shotgun even easier, each pellet marked to target and hone in on enemies, but only when you ADS.
Scopes
All shotguns have access to the following scopes:
- Reflex
- Trojan
- ELO
- Smart Shot
Reaver
Semi-auto ballistic shotgun. Features a cyclic drum magazine for quick trigger response.
| Accuracy | 40 |
| Damage | 82 |
| Range | 16 |
| Fire Rate | 64 |
| Mobility | 80 |
Unique Attachment: Slug Shot
Fires a single slug shot.
| Accuracy | – |
| Damage | +10 |
| Range | – |
| Fire Rate | – |
| Mobility | – |
Strategy
The Reaver’s standout advantage is its drum magazine, which allows for extremely quick fire on enemies, allowing you to unload your clip and eliminate several nearby enemies very quickly. If you try the Reaver during a level, and don’t like it, be sure to come back and try it again with the Slug Shot upgrade. With the damage bonus, it is one of the highest damage weapons in the game.

Banshee
Pump-action sonic shotgun. Employs a high decibel acoustic driver, yielding balanced stopping power and fire rate.
| Accuracy | 45 |
| Damage | 83 |
| Range | 20 |
| Fire Rate | 34 |
| Mobility | 80 |
Unique Attachment: C6 Stun
Upgrades the deafening effect of the Banshee, so it can stun C6s.
Strategy
Aptly named, the Banshee unrelentingly cuts through enemies at short range. The extended clip means less of a chance of having to reload at an inopportune time. Highly recommended as a secondary weapon on any level with short-range combat.

DCM-8
Full auto energy shotgun. A high capacity power cell supports rapid fire capability.
| Accuracy | 30 |
| Damage | 80 |
| Range | 12 |
| Fire Rate | 68 |
| Mobility | 80 |
Unique Attachment: Advanced Attachement
The DCM-8 fires rounds with a tighter spread.
| Accuracy | +10 |
| Damage | – |
| Range | – |
| Fire Rate | – |
| Mobility | – |
Strategy
The DCM-8 is the most common shotgun in the campaign, as the SDF uses this as its default weapon. Since it’s the only available energy shotgun, it is the go-to weapon on levels where you will be encountering drones. The DCM-8 is particularly good at taking out C8 drones. It’s unlikely you will go with the DCM-8 from Griff’s Loadout, but if you do, the Advanced DCM-8 mod increases its accuracy to the point where the weapon can more easily be used at medium-range.
