Special Achievements

These all have special requirements to complete.

Achievement Name How to Get PS4 Trophy Xbox Points Notes
Danger Close Kill 15 enemies with a Zero-G grappling hook. Silver 30 You can earn this by killing enemies with the grappling hook attack on Zero-G levels in the Campaign. There are many Zero-G sections in the Target of Opportunity missions. Whenever you can float near an enemy, do so and you will see the Tactical button appear in your HUD on top of the enemy. Press the button to execute a Zero-G grappling hook kill. Fifteen is a lot of enemies, so don’t expect to get this in just one playthrough, particularly if you are playing on a hard difficulty (enemies will often shoot you before you can get close enough to pull off the maneuver). Go back and replay missions until this triggers.
You Know Nothing Kill Kotch before his speech ends. Silver 30 This one has a spoiler, so don’t read further if you don’t want to know! When you defeat Kotch in Operation Black Flag (at the very end of the level), Kotch begins lecturing you on why the UNSA will always lose. Shut him up before he can complete his speech by hitting the Melee button once he starts.
Captain’s Log Use the computer in the Captain’s office. Bronze 15 There are missions that require you to receive an incoming message on the Captain’s computer. To earn this, just use that same computer to review personnel and After Action Reviews on the computer.
Reality TV Watch a news cast. Bronze 15 You can view newscasts in the rec room aboard the Retribution between missions. They appear on a large TV just around the corner of the door you exit after completing a mission.
Boots on the Ground Go two minutes without double jumping or wall running on a mission where the abilities are available. Bronze 15 Once you unlock the Boost-Jump in the third mission, this can be done at any time. Just avoid using the double (Boost) ability or wall run for two minutes of gameplay (without dying) and it will unlock.
Peek-a-boo! Kick open a door, peek open a door, and throw a grenade while peeking through a door. Bronze 15 There are several “peek” doors located throughout the Campaign. You have three options whenever you peek: Kick it with the Stance button, “peek” it by pushing forward until the door opens fully, or toss a grenade, killing whoever is on the other side. You should be able to get this through your natural Campaign playthrough.
Gravity Kills Kill an enemy while floating in your own anti-gravity grenade. Bronze 15 You get Anti-Grav grenades starting in the third Campaign mission. Toss one on the ground, walk inside the field, and then kill a nearby enemy to trigger this.
C12 Kill 3 C12s all 3 ways in one playthrough. Bronze 15 This is one of the more challenging Achievements in the game. There are only three C12s that you can kill in one playthrough. That means you must activate each of the three types of deaths on the three enemies. The first way to kill a C12 is to blow off its limbs. This is most easily achieved in the first Campaign mission. The second and third ways to kill a C12 are by crippling its left or right arm and then jumping on top. Doing this executes a Quick Time Event. There’s a different one for both the left and right arms.
