A fast sliding attack that can plow through large groups of enemies.

A high damage attack that is effective up close but can open him up to counter attacks.

Upgrade Paths

Anchor’s A-Yay!!

Thumpling’s primary attack Anchor Assault receives damage and combo upgrades on this path. The attack is slow, but its extended range and extra damage are tremendous benefits. Memorize Thumpling’s Combos and practice them to deal with enemies up close or at mid range. The Power Swing combo ends with a 360-degree spin to deal with enemies that surround you. Whirlpool Ripper is the best choice at mid range due to its power upgrade from Bermuda Triangle and the lingering whirlpool that damages any enemies unfortunate enough to be nearby.

Up Close and Personal

Thumpling’s trademark Belly Slide lets him power through large groups of enemies. His speed while sliding makes him hard to hit and the Belly Flop doubles as an excellent evasive maneuver, even if you don’t focus on upgrading it. Breakfast in Bed provides the ability to chop at enemies while sliding to add extra damage. Be careful though, all that sliding makes it very easy to go over the edge! Bad Sushi is a mid-range attack that adds variety but it’s not as effective as Anchor Assault. Armor of the Sea is a great passive ability that increases armor, allowing Thumpling to take more damage up close or during a slide.

Soul Gem Ability

Blowhard: 4000

While belly sliding, press Attack 1 to spray water and starfish.

This is a great add-on for the Belly Flop attack. When you hit Attack 1 Thumpling blows a starfish and water out of his blowhole, which blasts any enemies he is sliding near. This can be done once per slide, but is very effective, especially if you miss with the belly Flop attack directly.

Basic Attacks

Anchor Assault

Press Attack 1 to swing Thumpling’s anchor at enemies. Press Attack 1, Attack 1, HOLD Attack 1 for a special combo!

Belly Flop

Press Attack 2 to dive into a belly flop, damaging enemies.

Upgrades

A Whale of a Chomp: 500

Press Attack 3 for a big, whalesized chomp.

Slippery Belly: 700

Slide longer after a belly flop and do increased damage.

The Whalest Chomp: 900

Bigger, most powerful Whale Chomp attack.

Now There’s an Anchor!: 1200

Increases Anchor Assault’s damage.

Anchor’s A-Yay!!

Provides more upgrades for the Anchor attacks.

Thumpling Combos: 1700

Press Attack 1, Attack 1, and HOLD Attack 2 for Power Swing. Press Attack 1, Attack 1, and HOLD Attack 3 for Whirlpool Ripper.

Bermuda Triangle: 2200

Increase the power of the Whirlpool Ripper combo attack. Prerequisite: Thumpling Combos

Ultimate Anchor: 3000

Best anchor you can find! Does maximum damage.

Up Close and Personal

Provides more upgrades for the Belly Flop and Chomp attacks.

Breakfast in Bed: 1700

While Belly sliding, press Attack 3 to chomp enemies.

Armor of the Sea: 2200

Seashells make for better armor.

Bad Sushi: 3000

Hold the Attack 3 button to release a stream of projectile water vomit, damaging enemies.
