Short Cut was renowned for making the finest clothing in all of Skylands. With his magic shears, no thread was too thick, no cloth was too bunchy, and no pattern was too hard to follow. But one day, a fleet of flying sailing ships appeared overhead, crewed by raucous Skeleton Pirates. Having plundered a cargo of golden yarn from fortunetelling soothsayers, their leader demanded that Short Cut stitch together a magic hat that would tell him the futures of everyone in Skylands—or suffer the consequences! Not wanting to see his work used for evil, he bravely snuck onto the ship that night and sewed the pants and shirts of the sleeping pirates together so they were unable to fight. Short Cut then used his magic shears to cut the sails and wrap them around the ship, preventing the pirates from escaping. His brave actions caught the attention of Master Eon, who quickly made Short Cut a member of the Trap Team, where he now uses powerful Traptanium Shears to cut evil’s future short with every snip!

Basic Attack Notes

Traptanium Scissors

A quick attack that becomes even quicker after Cutting Frenzy.

Phantom Puppets

Summon minions to aid Short Cut; clip their rope to send them into action even sooner.

Nether Needle

A ranged attack that brings enemies into melee distance and eventually immobilizes them.

Upgrade Paths

Scary Seamster

This path adds a lot of power and a new feature to the Nether Needle. The primary use of this technique is to draw enemies into melee range. Once they are up close Short Cut and his minions can slice them up with scissors attacks. However, the last two upgrades on this path add much needed additional damage. While Short Cut is really quick, his regular attacks do not dish out big damage. The increases these upgrades provide are critical. Treacherous Tangle is a great added feature that immobilizes foes to attack directly, temporarily takes them out of action, or lets your minions deal with them. However, this can’t incapacitate all enemies.

Puppet Master

As the master of puppets make sure to create them constantly and cut them loose to free them quickly and do more damage. This path allows your minions to do more damage acting like bombs before they disappear. Also it is possible to create more Phantom Puppets to make a small army to assist in battle. Keep minions at all times and let them do a lot of the damage as this path does not directly increase Short Cut’s scissor attacks. The final option on this path allows the minions to heal Short Cut giving him a chance to retreat and let his minions deal with most enemies.

Soul Gem Ability

Scissor Stilts: 4000

Hold Attack 1 and press Attack 2 to walk on the Traptanium Scissors like stilts, damaging anything in your path. Prerequisite: Find Short Cut’s Soul Gem in CH 17: Lair of the Golden Queen

Walk across foes, shredding them with the Traptanium Scissors. The added height from these stilts is a great boost to Short Cut’s small stature and allows him to trample without much fear of retaliation.

Press Attack 1 to snip away with Traptanium Scissors.

Phantom Puppets

Press Attack 2 to summon puppet minions who attack enemies.

Upgrades

Cutting Frenzy: 500

Rapidly press Attack 1 to go into a cutting frenzy.

Nether Needle: 700

Press Attack 3 to shoot a Nether Needle and pull enemies you hit in closer.

No Strings Attached: 900

Cut a Puppet’s string with Traptanium Scissors to make it faster and more powerful.

Cut Through Worlds: 1200

Hold Attack 1 and release to cut open a rift into another dimension.

Scary Seamster

Upgrade Traptanium Scissor attacks.

Treacherous Tangle: 1700

Enemies reeled in by the Nether Needle are tangled up in thread.

Super Snips: 2200

Enemies tangled up in thread take extra damage from Scissor attacks.

Threadsplosion: 3000

After an enemy becomes untangled, an explosion occurs doing extra damage.

Puppet Master

Upgrade Phantom Puppet attacks.

Go Out with a Bang: 1700

Phantom Puppets explode before disappearing, damaging anything around them.

Puppet Population: 2200

Can summon more Phantom Puppets at a time and all do extra damage.

Paging Dr. Puppets: 3000

Phantom Puppets can heal you after damaging an enemy.
