Sugar Plateau, Cola Stream & Backwash Spillway
Speak with Buzz to learn how to use your Skylander’s Primary attack, and how to jump. There are many destructible items in the area to destroy, so don’t be shy. Smash away!
When you discover a large cannon in an open area, Buzz appears again to explain how it works. Interact with the cannon to blast the gate and open the path ahead. Before you pass through the gate, jump up on the ledge to the right. Open the Treasure Chest and collect the coins that pop out of it.
Walk past the gate and push the turtle with the arrow floating over its shell into the gap to form a bridge. Whenever you see arrows like these, you can push the object (or creature) they float over in the direction indicated. Long-time Portal Masters are familiar with these objects, but if this is your first adventure in Skylands, keep a sharp eye out for them.
Hop off the right side of the turtle bridge to fall into the Cola Stream. Follow the coins over the soda falls to Backwash Spillway. Collect the piles of valuables, then use the blue Bounce Pad to return to the starting area. Retrace your steps back to the turtles.
There’s a Troll Radio between the first turtle and the stacked turtles. These radios allow you to change channels, and you should continue to switch things up until you are awarded a cash prize. Repeat this with every Troll Radio you find for easy money. Push the stacked turtles into the flowing soda and cross the newly-formed bridge.
Soda Flats & Hidden Flavor Grotto
Buzz pops up again and explains how to trap certain villains after you defeat them in battle. The first such enemy, Sheep Creep, is just ahead. The nearby red button with crossed swords is a Battle Gate, and indicates an object that remains locked until certain enemies are defeated. In this instance, it’s Sheep Creep.
Defeating Sheep Creep also opens up a Bounce Pad near Buzz. Hop over the gap and follow the dirt path past the turtle. There’s a doorway hidden on the other side of the stone ledge that leads to the Hidden Flavor Grotto.
Collect the coins and Winged Sapphire from the middle of the room, then return outside. Push the turtle into the gap between ledges. Use the Bounce Pad to reach the Natural Ingredients Tree.
When Sheep Creep’s health is depleted, you are prompted to capture him with a Life Trap. Whether you capture him or not, you are rewarded with gold and a new Skystone. The Skystone is part of a game that will be introduced in a few chapters. Every chapter has villains like Sheep Creep, so have your traps nearby as you continue the adventure.
Natural Ingredients Tree & Seltzer Pit
Buzz points out the Traptanium nearby and notes the need for a Trap Master’s crystal weapon to break it. Defeat the waves of Chompies and other enemies to open the nearby Battle Gate.
Place a Trap Master on your Traptanium Portal and destroy the Traptanium crystal to break the floor and reveal the Seltzer Pit. Grab the coins and open the Treasure Chest. Use both Bounce Pads to reach your first Traptanium Gate. You must use a Trap Master of the indicated Element to open it. Use the nearby purple Super Bounce Pad after your trip inside the gate.
Twisting Top
The Super Bounce Pad trip ends at Twisting Top. Step off the edge and collect the floating coins on the way down. Claim the Story Scroll here and enter the nearby Light Gate.

Jump on the Bounce Pad to reach the raised center of Twisting Top. Grab Blades’ Soul Gem (Instant Swirl Shards). There’s another Super Bounce Pad nearby, but don’t use it until after a trip through the Life Gate.
Sugar Free Landing & Really Secret Spot
A Battle Gate appears and blocks your progress. There’s a Tech Gate down the ramp to the left, as are the enemies you need to defeat to open the Battle Gate. With the enemies out of the way, jump off the left side of the ramp to reach the aptly named Really Secret Spot. Grab the coins and use the Bounce Pads to return to the Tech Gate.
Grape Flavored Vista, Bottleneck Balcony & Fizzlewort’s Rooftop
With the Battle Gate out of the way, go up the ramp to reach Grape Flavored Vista. You know you’re in the right spot when you see Mabu running from The Gulper.
After your victory over The Gulper, the next stop is Skylanders Academy, where you meet up with many old friends, including Cali, Flynn, Buzz, and Persephone.
Skylanders Academy - First Visit
Persephone re-introduces herself and summons her home. She sells upgrades nearby, between the three aquatic creatures on springs you can use for target practice. Go inside her treehouse to collect a few coins and the Elemental Diamond trinket.
Cali stands near a statue of Kaos. Talk to her to learn about Kaos Doom Challenges. The locked area in the center of the courtyard is the Villain Vault. The Vault tracks villains defeated and captured, and also allows you to switch which villain is active in your traps. Most of the Academy remains blocked for now, so speak to Flynn to head off to the next stop in the adventure.
