Gearshift was created on the Tech island of Metallana by King Mercurus, who considered the young robot to be his own daughter. But rather than performing royal duties, Gearshift preferred to spend her time in the oily depths of the kingdom among its workers, secretly tending to the huge subterranean machines. When her father discovered this, he was furious—but then a squadron of Undead Stormriders suddenly attacked. Learning that these marauders wanted to capture her father, Gearshift used her knowledge of the labyrinth below to hide him. Seizing the emblem of her people—The Great Gear—she used it to fight the Stormriders, inspiring the workers to rise up. Together, they drove the Stormriders out of Metallana and saved the kingdom. For this, Gearshift was made part of the Trap Team, using her new awesome Traptanium-forged gear to help defend Skylands!

Basic Attack Notes

Traptanium Gear

Have three unique attacks. Hoop Mode uses a spin attack for the highest damage. Dual Mode has gears in each hand for mid damage. Fragment Mode provides a projectile attack.

Mode Toggle

Toggle between modes and provide a small amount of damage. When upgraded it releases a Gear Saw.

Gear Grind

A cartwheel attack that upgrades to drop Mini-Gears which can be knocked into enemies while in Hoop Mode.

Upgrade Paths

Dual Mode Duelist

All of the powers on this path require Gearshift to be in Dual Mode so make sure you are conformable with that mode. Gear Saw receives several upgrades to provide an effective long-range attack to accompany the dual wielding melee ability. Start out with Spare Parts to create a Gear Saw at the end of a three-button string. Note that Gear Saws don’t do a ton of damage but they hang around continuing to damage enemies. Several Gear Saws can be out at a time and to extend their life use Keep ‘Em Spinning. Continually attack to send out Gear Saws for long-range damage and try to keep as many spinning as possible.

Fragment Mode Freak

Gearshift must be in Fragment Mode to fully utilize the upgrades on this path. Enhanced Fragmentation fires out more fragments and the other two upgrades release Mini-Gears. This path is centered around mid to long range attacks. Stay on the move, firing out fragments as fast a possible and if you have to retreat, enemies take damage as they trample over the Mini-Gears. Use Gear Grind for quick mobility to dash out of danger and always try to keep a safe distance to continue to fire off fragments.

Soul Gem Ability

Swing Shift: 4000

Traptanium Gear is more powerful and can switch modes much faster. Prerequiste: Find Gearshift’s Soul Gem in CH 13: The Future of Skylands

Swing Shift provides two essential upgrades! It makes switching between modes much faster to take advantage of her unique abilities in each mode. It also increases damage to all modes by making the Traptanium gear more powerful. Get this ability as soon as possible!
