As a royal protector of the legendary monkey idol Kubla-Wa, Fling Kong trained seriously in the mysterious art of Monk-Ru, a form of fighting using the power of air. He was a devoted student, always the first to arrive to training and the last to leave. One day, a troop of foul-smelling, well-armed Gorilla-Goos appeared, led by the infamous General Snot. Snot had heard stories about the idol, particularly that it was made of solid gold. The villains quickly seized control of the temple that housed the idol and were on the verge of taking it. But suddenly the smelly gorillas found themselves face to face with Fling Kong—who attacked with the power of a true Monk-Ru master! Using his flying rug and powerful vortex discs, he expertly defeated the Gorilla-Goos and saved the idol. Soon after, word of his actions spread to Master Eon. Now a Skylander, Fling Kong knocks the wind out of evil throughout all of the Skylands!

Basic Attack Notes

Power Discs

If there are enemies guarding a higher ledge, jump and throw Power Discs to take them out safely.

Magic Carpet Dash

With the Mad Dash Upgrade, change the direction of the Dash by pressing a direction on the controller when you release Attack 2.

Cymbal Crash

The Kong Klang upgrade allows Fling King to continue moving while charging the attack.

Upgrade Paths

Disc Jockey

The upgrades from the Disc Jocky Path are wonderful for battles in tight spaces. Trick Shot sends Power Discs through multiple enemies and bouncing off walls. Smash Hit is slightly less powerful than The Kong Klang, but does not require any charging. A Toss Up triples the damage of Power Discs and doesn’t take too long to charge, but you don’t control when it goes off.

Carpet Captain

The three abilities of the Carpet Captain Path turn Magic Carpet Dash into a destroyer of groups of enemies. Smash ‘N’ Dash extends the length of the dash, and Shock Treatment continues to damage enemies caught in Magic Carpet Dash’s wake. Use Double Whammy to clear the path ahead or finish enemies that survived the initial dash and electricity. Tap the direction you want to throw the discs before pressing Attack 1.

Soul Gem Ability

Make It Rain!: 4000

Hold Attack 2 even longer and then release to fly up into the air, unleashing a rain of Power Discs from above. Prerequisite: Find Fling Kong’s Soul Gem during Chapter 11: Wilikin Workshop

First, the bad news: Make it Rain! has a lengthy charge time (the violet flash of light tells you it’s ready), and Fling Kong remains vulnerable to attacks. The upside is that he flies safely off screen while Make It Rain! demolishes everything within its range. It’s dangerous to use when you don’t know an area, but keep it in mind when you know a fight is coming and there’s enough time to build a full charge (it doesn’t begin until you release Attack 2).
