Summoned by a Mabu Mystic, Enigma comes from a nameless place “between the worlds.” Though the Mystic was really just looking for someone to play Skystones, he was quickly enraptured by Enigma’s stories about his mysterious homeland. Unfortunately, the Darkness got wind of these stories, and seeking another realm to conquer, sent minions to lay siege on the gateway that remained open. Making matters worse, the Mabu had no idea how to close it. So, with a legion of minions fast approaching, Enigma chose to use his Sigil of Mystery to seal the doorway—cutting him off from his home forever. This large sacrifice caught the attention of the Trap Team, who welcomed Enigma and gave him a new home as a protector of Skylands. He now uses his Traptanium Sigil to put a world of hurt on evil everywhere!
Basic Attack Notes
Mystic Staff
Can attack three times for a combo and performs a downward slam while jumping.
Invisibility Mode
Creates a Magic Mist while invisible and can be canceled by pressing Attack 2.
Paradox Pound
Attack effects area where it lands and can be used in air to quickly land and slam the ground.
Upgrade Paths
Chief of Staff
The Mystic Staff becomes a more versatile and deadly weapon on this path. The basic combo is a great start but now there are two more choices for dealing with groups of enemies. Magic Eye Combo ends with a dashing move that covers a lot of ground and hurts enemies in its wake. Use the Teleport Slam Combo for some crowd control with its final slam move that hurts enemies in the vicinity. The Paradox Pound gets a boost from It’s Raining Eyes? but it has a long charge time and is best used before enemies are up close.
Invisible Invader
Make the most of Enigma’s invisibility by confusing foes with ghost versions and they’ll never know what’s coming. Becoming a stealthy and strategic warrior is essential on this path by using invisibility to take out the targets you want, while avoiding enemy attention. To aid in this endeavor, Ninja Style adds a big damage boost to further enforce using sneak attacks while invisible. Mindboggling adds more damage to Paradox Pound and knocks back foes, making it the perfect weapon to deal with groups of enemies. This attack has a large area of effect and is great to use with invisibility to sneak into a large group and multiple foes before they know what hit them.
Soul Gem Ability
An Eye for Several Eyes: 4000
Hold Attack 3 and press Attack 1 to fire eye beams and rain down eye balls. Requires Paradox Pound. Prerequisite: Find Enigma’s Soul Gem in CH 14: Operation: Troll Rocket Steal
An incredible ability that shoots a continuous beam from the Mystic Staff. Enigma can’t move while the beam is in use but it can be rotated in a full circle to cut through foes around him. The beam does a lot of damage but it has a slightly longer launch window than the Paradox Pound.
