Chapter 14: Operation: Troll Rocket Steal

Mabu Main Base

Buzz has a quest for Bone Chompy near the starting point, and there’s a Troll Radio just ahead. Go right at the fork to reach an Earth Gate. Go up the hill from the Earth Gate for the second villain quest.

When you’re done with quests and Traptanium gates, move toward enemy lines and defeat the Troll forces to free Snuckles. The Mabu Base Entrance is just beyond his cage.

Mabu Base Entrance

Free Nort from his cage. He points out the location of a Bomb, which is near a Health Reginifier. Gimpy explains how to get them to work. Grab the Bomb and destroy the Troll defenses and gate.

There are two doorways here. The left goes to Southwest Tower, and the right goes to the Southeast Tower. Continue on through the destroyed gates to reach the Battlements.

Southwest Tower & Southeast Tower

Grab the Bomb from outside and carry it inside the Southwest Tower to get to a Winged Sapphire. The Southeast Tower has a Treasure Chest behind a Puzzle Lock. Free Rizzo from his cage. He points out the location of a Bomb. Summon the Mabu to build steps on the right and left. There’s another Health Reginifier nearby to charge up.

Troll Firing Range, Tank Factory & Factory Storage

Use the steps on the right to reach the Troll Firing Range. Destroy the Traptanium crystal for a Treasure Chest. The steps on the left go the Tank Factory. Follow the stone ramp behind the Bomb to another Treasure Chest. Go through the nearby door for Cobra-Cadabra’s Soul Gem (Big Basket Bomb).

Back outside, jump on the blocks in the correct order. Activate the power coil at the top and head into the nearby Tech Gate.

Back in the Battlements, use the Bomb to blow up the gate. When prompted, step back and use the switch to activate the Mabu Catapult. A Lock Puzzle appears on the gate ahead.

Troll Base Entrance

The two doorways on the other side of the gates are the Northwest and Northeast Towers. Look for a Health Regenifier on the right. Destroy the timberworks behind the Health Regenifier to clear the way to the Legendary Mabu Parachute.

Northwest Tower & Northeast Tower

Each tower has a pile of valuables, but only the Northeast Tower has a Lock Puzzle guarding it. Go left, up, left, down, right, down, right, right, up, up, and left to open the lock.

Troll Main Base

The Trolls are massed at the gate and have heavy reinforcements. Let the Mabu (and Evilikin, if you have them) handle the bulk of the fighting. Go back to the Regenifier as often as you need. Look for a path on right. Smash the timberworks to reach the Troll Weapons Lab.

Troll Weapons Lab

Beyond the battle against Grinnade, Troll Weapons Lab also has a VillainStash.

Follow the winding path past the Troll Weapons Lab. There’s a Bomb to use against the Troll forces. Continue up higher and the path ends at a Teleport Pad near a Story Scroll. Use the Teleport Pad to jump to Enigma’s Soul Gem (An Eye For Several Eyes). The Teleport Pad is a one-way trip. You need to jump down to rejoin the battle.

Mech Factory

Look for the tower from which the Troll walking tanks appear. Go inside that doorway and take out the Trolls inside. That swings the tide of battle in your favor!

Mission Con-Troll

Professor Nilbog initiates an Arena Battle. The battle opens against a swarm of Grinnades and Trolls carrying maces. Stage two adds a hazard from the skull-marked doors. When one opens, it’s about to fire a jet of flame. Don’t stand in front of that one! Lob Goblins and a tank join the fight. Stage three builds on the second. Multiple doors open at the same time and the Professor joins the battle as Threatpack. If you manage to complete this arena battle without getting hit by rocket exhaust, you get the Achievement, Exhaust All Possibilities.
