The Sound of Silence

This great hall of the Zoras features a giant clamshell stage. The hit Zora band, The Indigo-Go’s, have held many epic performances here, but with all of the recent trouble around the Great Bay Coast, no music fills the hall.

Caught in the Act

Speak with the Zoras on the stage if you like (you can even perform a sound check for one of them by whipping out your guitar and playing a note as Zora Link), then check behind the stage to find Zoras guarding a bunch of doors. Curiously, one of the Zoras is peering through the door that he’s guarding. Speak to him as Zora Link to give him a start.

The Zora mistakes you for the great Zora guitarist, Mikau, and he assures you that he wasn’t trying to spy on Lulu before rushing off in embarrassment. This must be the dressing room of Lulu, the Zora band’s lead singer. Meeting Lulu would be a real treat, so go through the door to enter her dressing room.

Lulu’s Diary

As you enter Lulu’s dressing room, an open book catches your eye. It’s Lulu’s diary! Lulu isn’t around, and although it may seem intrusive, go ahead and give her diary a quick read. You’ll learn that Lulu has lost her voice, along with her precious Zora Eggs. How awful! You’ll have to try to help her, assuming you can find her.

Dressing Room Deku

What’s this? There’s a Business Scrub in Lulu’s dressing room, as well. The Scrub offers to sell you Green Potions for 40 Rupees if you speak to him as Zora Link. Put on the Goron Mask, however, and you’ll be able to trade your Mountain Title Deed for an Ocean Title Deed. Go ahead and make the trade.

After the Scrub scrams, slap on the Deku Mask and dive into your new Deku Flower. Launch out and fly over to the nearby shelf, which features a Piece of Heart.

You got a Piece of Heart! Collect four Pieces of Heart to assemble a new Heart Container. Each new container you put together increases the amount of life energy you can have.

Jammin’ with Japas

Leave Lulu’s dressing room, and run along Zora Hall’s north wall. Find a door with seashells above it to the east, and speak to the Zora guard as Zora Link. The guard lets you pass; enter the room after the guard moves away.

Tijo, drummer for The Indigo-Go’s, is practicing his craft in his room. (That familiar tune happens to be the “cave song” from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.) Speak to Tijo to learn a little more about Lulu’s troubles.

After speaking with Tijo, take off the Zora Mask, and whip out the Hookshot. Aim up at the tree branch with the green growth, and zip up to the loft.

Once you reach the loft, put the Zora Mask back on, and inspect the open book on the desk. It’s Mikau’s diary! You can only read it as Zora Link. In it, Mikau writes some notes that he played with Japas, the Zora band’s bassist, during a couple of recent jam sessions. First, he played , , , , and then, he played , , , .

Leave Tijo’s room and enter the next room, which has a pink octopus above it. This is Japas’ room, the Zora who plays bass for The Indigo-Go’s. He’s practicing the classic Legend of Zelda dungeon theme.

Speak with Japas as Zora Link to learn that Lulu is standing out back, staring at the sea. Good to know. Whip out your Zora Guitar afterward to start a jam session. Japas plays a few licks, and then you’ll need to follow up. The first part he plays is , , , . Follow this with the first riff you read in Mikau’s diary: , , , .

Japas gets excited at your smooth riffage and plays another part: , , , . Follow this up with the second riff you read in Mikau’s diary: , , , .

Successfully jamming along with Japas draws a crowd to his dressing room door. You’re clearly on to something, but Japas is afraid that Evan, the band leader, won’t let The Indigo-Go’s play this new song if he finds out that he and Mikau (really Zora Link) wrote it.

Impressing Evan

After completing the jam session, leave Japas’ room and head for the next room down the hall, which has some white coral above it. This is Evan’s room, The Indigo-Go’s band leader. Enter it to find Evan playing the “game over” theme from the original Legend of Zelda.

Speak to Evan as Zora Link, and he’ll take you for Mikau. He’ll ask if you managed to find Lulu’s eggs yet. You haven’t, of course, but that’s not why you’re here.

Take off the Zora Mask to return Link to his normal form. Pull out the Ocarina of Time afterward, and play the entire song that you and Japas wrote together: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , .

The melody you play inspires Evan, and he’ll recreate the song on his piano. Because you played it for him as normal Link, and not as Zora Link, he won’t feel intimidated that the song was actually written by Japas and Mikau. Instead, Evan commends Link on his musical ability and rewards him with a Piece of Heart.
