Having fully explored Clock Town’s every nook and cranny, Link has obtained several useful masks and items, and he’s also gained total mastery over the flow of time. Now our hero must turn his attention to exploring the lands that lie beyond Clock Town’s towering walls. The answers that he seeks are out there, but so is grave danger. Every ounce of Link’s courage and skill will be put to the test as he ventures into the wilds of Termina Field.
Take It Slow
If you haven’t yet done so, play the Song of Time to return to the Dawn of the First Day. The flow of time returns to normal each time you play the Song of Time, so immediately play the Inverted Song of Time to slow the flow of time again. This is an important practice, as it gives you much more time to explore.
Do the Deed
Before leaving Clock Town, take a moment to reacquire the Town Title Deed. Do this as you’ve done previously: tell the Bomber guard in East Clock Town the secret code so you can enter the sewers and visit the Astral Observatory.
The Business Scrub’s Stash
When you reach the observatory, gaze at the Skull Kid through the telescope, and watch the Moon’s Tear fall from the moon. Afterward, keep looking through the telescope, and wait for a Business Scrub to fly up from Clock Town. The scrub then flies around the field and eventually dives into a hole in the ground near the observatory. It’s important that you watch the Business Scrub enter this hole, so don’t miss him!
After watching the Business Scrub disappear into the hole, step outside and grab the Moon’s Tear. Next, backtrack through the sewers and return to South Clock Town. Give the Moon’s Tear to the Business Scrub in the Deku Flower to receive the Town Title Deed in trade.
Leaving Town
Now that you’ve got the Town Title Deed and at least 100 Rupees in your wallet, you’re ready to leave Clock Town. As normal Link, speak to the soldier who guards the south gate in South Clock Town. After noticing that Link is armed with a sword, the soldier deems it fit to let him pass. Leave Clock Town through the south gate, and begin your explorations of Termina Field.
