Off to the Races
It’s dangerous to go alone (without a sword, that is), so take care as you travel east through the Road to Goron Village. Use Goron Link’s roll to hasten your journey, and employ his mighty fists to batter the Blue Tektites, Wolfos, and Quays that get in the way.
Remember the Goron Racetrack? The time has come to check it out. Roll up to the boulder on the hill, and use your Powder Keg to blast it apart. Follow the Goron Elder’s son into the Goron Racetrack afterward.
Inside the Goron Racetrack, speak to the Goron Elder’s son to learn about the day’s race. You’re here to win, so go ahead and accept the challenge.
Curl up at the starting line and wait until the countdown reaches “1,” then start rolling to get a slight head start. Once the race begins, simply roll along at top speed and try to outrun all of the other Goron racers. Run into big green jars to replenish your magic power during the race.
The other Goron racers are rough customers, and they’re good at knocking you around. Don’t bother bumping into them; just keep your distance to maintain top speed and reduce the risk of being bumped into an obstacle.
The race isn’t long, and there’s no entry fee, so you can try it again and again. Finish in first place to win a fabulous prize: a Bottle of Gold Dust. If you have won this race before, then you already have the Empty Bottle and are merely given Gold Dust to put in it. Either way, that precious Gold Dust will soon come in handy. Tuck it away, and make your way back to Goron Village.
Bottle of Gold Dust
You got a Bottle of Gold Dust! This stuff is the highestquality available.
Clock Town
That’s enough monkeying around the mountains for the moment. Soar back to Clock Town, and if it’s not yet 4 p.m. on the First Day, head on over to the Stock Pot Inn in East Clock Town.
A Room with a Rupee
Ensure that Link is wearing the Goron Mask and that the current time is between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. during the First Day before entering the Stock Pot Inn. (Use the Song of Double Time to advance to 3 p.m. if it’s still early.) Enter the inn between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. as Goron Link, and talk to Anju, the receptionist. Tell Anju that you have a reservation, and she’ll give you the Room Key.
Room Key
You got a Room Key! You’re not sure why, but you apparently had a reservation…
Now that you have the Room Key, you can enter a special room on the Stock Pot Inn’s second floor. Go upstairs, and unlock the second floor hall’s middle door to visit the Knife Chamber. Open the chest that you discover there to claim a Silver Rupee.
