The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D eGuide Walkthrough Chapter 4: Woodfalls Woes

Swamp Trail

Swamp Shooting Gallery

Ready for more archery action? After winning the Honey & Darling’s Piece of Heart, deposit your Rupees, and then play the Song of Time to reset to the Dawn of the First Day. Plunder the Silver Rupee chest atop the Town Shooting Gallery once more, then play the Song of Soaring and soar to the Southern Swamp. From there, go north to reach the Swamp Trail, then go north and then east to locate the Swamp Fishing Hole and the Swamp Shooting Gallery. You’ll start with the latter.

The Swamp Shooting Gallery is similar to the one in Clock Town, except that it’s easier because there are no “bad” targets to worry about. Pay 20 Rupees to play, then simply shoot down every monster that appears in the range. You’ve gotta hit ‘em all to win.

The Swamp Shooting Gallery features three separate “frames” of monsters—Mad Scrubs, Guays, and Wolfos—and each frame appears three times. The man who runs the game blows a whistle at the start of each new frame, and then that new frame of monsters lets out their telltale sound. Mad Scrubs squeak, Guays chirp, and Wolfos howl. The Mad Scrubs pop up and down from their Deku Flowers, the Guays fly back and forth across the sky, and the Wolfos sprint straight across the field, pausing momentarily to howl.

You haven’t truly missed any monsters in a frame until the next frame of that type of monsters arrives. For example, although the Mad Scrubs pop up and down, it’s all the same frame until you hear the whistle blow followed by the Mad Scrubs’ telltale squeak. So don’t worry about missing; just keep hammering to shoot rapid-fire, and make sure that no monsters escape your sights.

Hitting every monster earns you a score of 2120. If you come really close but don’t quite score 2120, you may win a free game. For achieving the high score of 2120, you’ll receive the Largest Quiver. Beat the game again by achieving a score of 2180 or more by shooting all of the monsters with six or more seconds left on the clock, and you’ll win a Piece of Heart!

Largest Quiver

You won a Largest Quiver! Now you can hold up to 50 arrows.

Piece of Heart #19

You got a Piece of Heart! Collect four Pieces of Heart to assemble a new Heart Container. Each new container you put together increases the amount of life energy you can have.

That’s All for Now!

You’ve cleared Woodfall Temple, purified the swamp, restored the Great Fairy of Wisdom, and rescued the Deku Princess. That’s enough for one run, don’t you agree? Play the Song of Soaring to return to Clock Town, then deposit your Rupees and use the owl statue to save your progress before playing the Song of Time to reset to the Dawn of the First Day. There’s much more adventure to be had up in Termina’s northern mountains, and you’ll need all the time that you can get to explore everything that awaits!
