Exploring Eastward
Hop Ikana Road’s two fences with the help of Epona. When you reach the high east wall, put on the Garo’s Mask, and speak to the stranger who sits atop the cliff. (You obtained the Garo’s Mask earlier in the adventure by beating the Gorman Brothers in a horse race around the Gorman Track near Milk Road.)
The stranger likes your mask and tells you a little about its history, which is rooted in this ancient land. The stranger then vanishes, leaving behind a small, bare tree.
Hookshot the tree to zip up to the cliff, then continue journeying east to reach Ikana Canyon. Beware the rolling boulders and Nejirons that pop up from the path as you go. (The Stone Mask helps you avoid the Nejirons.)
Nejiron
Damage: 1/4 Heart
Beware these rolling foes! Though easily defeated, Nejirons give off a big blast when beaten, harming Link if he’s too close. The Hookshot can set off Nejirons from a safe distance, but they’re best left alone unless you’re in need of bombs, which these volatile villains commonly drop.
