The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D eGuide Walkthrough Chapter 3: Termina Field and the Southern Swamp

Romani Ranch

An Old Friend

Follow the ranch’s trail west until it forks, then veer right (north). Tatl catches sight of Link’s horse, Epona. You’ve found her! Unfortunately, Epona is being kept beyond a fence, and you can’t free her yet. Still, it’s nice knowing that she’s being cared for.

Crazy for Cuccos

The ranch girl, Romani, doesn’t have much to say to you during the Final Day, but you can add her to your Bombers’ Notebook if you like. Leave her be afterward, and follow the west trail to find a shack with some cuccos painted on it. Open the door and head inside.

Cross the yard, and speak with the man who’s sitting by a tree. His name is Grog, and his spirits are low, what with the moon crashing down and all. Grog doesn’t ask for much out of life; he just wishes he could see his little cucco chicks grow up to be roosters.

See if you can improve Grog’s mood. Put on the Bremen Mask you’ve been carrying around all this time, then hold to start marching. March all around the yard without letting go of , and the little cucco chicks will begin to follow you.

Keep marching around the yard until all 10 cucco chicks are following Link’s lead. Once all 10 chicks are following Link, they’ll magically begin to grow into roosters. Don’t question it!

Keep marching until all 10 cucco chicks have grown into roosters. This makes Grog happy (well, a little bit, at least), and he gives Link the Bunny Hood as thanks for cheering him up.

Bunny Hood

You got the Bunny Hood! My, what long ears it has! Will the power of the wild spring forth?

Bunny Hood Bonanza

The Bunny Hood is one of the coolest masks that Link can find, as it makes him run faster and jump farther than normal. Give it a whirl by putting it on and sprinting around the ranch. Vroom!

Time is moving right along, but you should put the Bunny Hood to good use before you save. Play the Song of Soaring to quickly return to Clock Town, then deposit all of your Rupees into your bank account. You’re about to find lots more!

Go to East Clock Town’s north end, and head for the stairs that lie just south of the alley that leads to the sewers. While wearing the Bunny Hood, sprint straight up the stairs.

After you scale the stairs, keep running forward, and leap to the top of the stone column near the town’s east gate.

While standing atop the stone column, notice that Tatl flies over to the sign of Honey & Darling’s Shop. Jump onto this sign, which resembles a basket, and then leap to the roof of the Town Shooting Gallery to the south.

Run around the Town Shooting Gallery’s roof to locate a hidden treasure chest. Flip its lid to score a Silver Rupee. Like every chest, this one resets whenever you travel back in time. Now that you have the Bunny Hood, you can easily collect these 100 Rupees whenever you rewind time.

Heart of Stone

Time is running out by now, but there are two more things worth accomplishing now that you’ve learned the Sonata of Awakening and have obtained the Bunny Hood. First, play the Song of Time to return to the Dawn of the First Day. Play the Inverted Song of Time to slow time afterward, then exit Clock Town through its north gate and search for a hole in the ground near the top of the snowy slope that leads down to the lower snowfield. Drop into this hole to visit a small cavern with four standing stones.

You may have noticed similar stones around Termina before. Strike them with Link’s blade, and they’ll tell you exactly how much time is left before the moon crashes down. The stones in this cavern serve a different purpose, however. Don the Deku Mask and stand directly in front of the largest stone, then play the Sonata of Awakening on the Deku Pipes.

The magic melody has an effect on the stone, and its color changes to green. Your Bombers’ Notebook is also updated, but it’s tough to tell exactly what has happened.

Return to the surface and go west, searching for a big brown rock to the northwest of Clock Town. Chop down the nearby bushes for bombs, then blast the rock to uncover a hole.

Drop down to visit another cavern that features four additional standing stones, one of which is green. Again, stand before the largest stone play the Song of Awakening as Deku Link to turn the big stone green, as well. It seems you must find two more of these mysterious caves.

Exit the cavern, and play the Song of Soaring. Warp to Milk Road, then go east to return to Termina Field. Flee from that awful Takkuri as you go east, searching for another hole along Termina Field’s south wall.

Drop into the hole to visit the third standing stone cavern. As you approach the biggest stone, beware the Skulltula that lurks down there. Play the Sonata of Awakening on the Deku Pipes again to activate the third standing stone. One more to go!

The final standing stone cavern is located near the Astral Observatory. Use the Bunny Hood to get there quickly, then drop into the hole near the fence on the observatory’s north side.

There’s nothing to fear in this cavern. Play the Sonata of Awakening to activate the final stone, and you’ll be rewarded with a Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #15

You got a Piece of Heart! Collect four Pieces of Heart to assemble a new Heart Container. Each new container you put together increases the amount of life energy you can have.

The Postman’s Challenge

Warp back to Clock Town and head for the Post Office, which is located at West Clock Town’s north end. Enter the Post Office any time after 3 p.m. on the First Day (use the Song of Double Time to advance to 3 p.m. if need be), and you’ll find the postman performing his rigorous training in bed. Now that you’ve found the Bunny Hood, you’re ready to take on his challenge.

Slap on the Bunny Hood and speak to the postman. He challenges you to try his training. Accept his offer, and a timer soon appears onscreen. Press to stop the timer at the exact moment that it hits 10 seconds, and you’ll win a Piece of Heart. This is tough to do without the Bunny Hood because the timer vanishes after a few seconds if you’re not wearing it. You must stop the timer at exactly 10 seconds to win.

Piece of Heart #16

You got a Piece of Heart! Collect four Pieces of Heart to assemble a new Heart Container. Each new container you put together increases the amount of life energy you can have.

Lucky Lotto

If you’d like to add another stamp to your Bombers’ Notebook (and earn some fast Rupees in the process), now’s a good time to do so. If you’ve been following this walkthrough, then you’ve already played the Clock Town lottery on all three days, so your Bombers’ Notebook reveals the winning numbers that are drawn each day. Now’s the time to put that information to good use!

If it’s before 6 p.m. on the First Day, visit the Lottery Shop, which is located across from the Post Office in West Clock Town. (If it’s after 6 p.m., simply play the Song of Time and return to the Dawn of the First Day.) Check your Bombers’ Notebook to see what the First Day’s winning numbers will be, then spend 10 Rupees to buy a lottery ticket and choose those numbers.

Exit the Lottery Shop, and play the Song of Double Time. Advance to the Night of the First Day (any time after 6 p.m.), then reenter the Lottery Shop and claim your Purple Rupee prize. Repeat this on the Second and Final Days to win a total of three Purple Rupees. Win the lottery on all three days to pocket 150 Rupees and add a new stamp to your Bombers’ Notebook.

Time to Save

You’ve made a lot of progress, so stop here for now. Deposit all of your Rupees into your bank account, then save your game at the Clock Town owl statue and play the Song of Time to return to the Dawn of the First Day. Make sure you get plenty of rest, for you’ll be tackling your very first dungeon next!
