Link’s exploration of Termina’s northern mountain regions has revealed troubling tidings: a terrible blizzard blows through the region, one so mighty that it threatens to wipe out the mountain’s humble inhabitants, the Gorons. Link has discovered that storm stems from a mysterious temple at the summit. Every Goron that has approached this temple has met with a terrible fate, yet Link must brave its frigid mysteries if the blizzard is to be halted.
Entering the Temple
Back on the Dawn of the First Day, play the Inverted Song of Time, followed by the Song of Soaring. Soar to Snowhead, and then smash the snowballs near the owl statue to find some arrows, bombs, and a Fairy that can be kept in an Empty Bottle. Afterward, approach the temple for a tip from Tatl.
Tatl thinks that there’s something in the middle of the blizzard ahead, but the storm is so thick that you can’t see it. Whip out the Lens of Truth to discover that a giant Goron is sitting near the temple. The Goron’s cries are blowing powerful gusts of wind and snow, keeping you from advancing.
That Goron sure seems upset, doesn’t he? See if you can calm him down. Put on the Goron Mask and pull out the Goron Drums, then play the Goron Lullaby that the Goron Elder’s son taught you.
The soothing sound of the Goron Lullaby works its magic on the giant Goron. The big guy curls up and starts snoozing so deeply that he falls from the ledge, disappearing into the abyss below.
With the giant Goron no longer gusting, approach the temple as Goron Link, throwing punches to smash through the big snowballs that come tumbling toward you. Roll up the slope to reach the temple’s base, but beware the White Wolfos that ambush you near the temple. Give them a taste of Goron Link’s fists also, if you like.
Snowhead Fairy’s Fountain
The entrance to Snowhead Temple lies at the top of the winding ramp that starts to the west, but before you go up, circle around to the east to find a small cave. Head inside to visit a Fairy’s Fountain.
Move to the middle of the fountain, and speak with the Great Fairy. The Skull Kid has broken and shattered her, just like he did to the two other Great Fairies that you’ve met before. She begs that Link rescue and return all of the Stray Fairies that are lost in Snowhead Temple. Hey, no problem!
Exit the Fairy’s Fountain, and begin ascending the winding ramp that leads up the temple. As Goron Link, roll through or punch the rolling snowballs to turn them to powder. When you reach the summit, hurry inside the temple—there’s no time to lose!
