Bouncing Bugs
As you scale the mountain’s snowy entry trail, beware of new baddies. The first ones you’ll encounter are Blue Tektites. Cut them down as you make your ascent.
Blue Tektite
Damage: 1/2 Heart
Blue Tektites bounce all about, aiming to batter Link with their bulk. Lock on to these agile foes, and raise Link’s shield to block their bounce attacks. After blocking, counter with a few sword strikes to cut them down. Blue Tektites occasionally drop useful Deku Sticks when defeated.
Having a Ball
As you scale the trail, keep a lookout for little snowballs that Link can scatter with his sword. Useful items often pop out of these small snowballs. Also, try rolling into trees to knock down additional items.
The trail’s larger snowballs can only be scattered with the force of a bomb or the Blast Mask. Remember to raise Link’s shield to avoid taking damage. Big snowballs contain items, as well, and you must obliterate a few to unblock the trail. Beware, however: blasting some of those big snowballs can free hidden Blue Tektites.
Beyond the big snowballs, a sign informs you that a village lies ahead. It also warns of blizzards and indicates that Gorons should be able to break snow boulders easily. Good to know. Venture onward to reach Mountain Village.
