Entry Cavern
You land in a large underground cavern. Leap over to the nearby doorway that features two jars and a torch. Smash the jars for items before proceeding into the next room.
Bad Bat Cave
The next room is filled with pesky Bad Bats. Put on the Deku Mask, and perform lots of spin attacks to slay them all with ease.
After you’ve beaten all of the Bad Bats, a chest appears in the middle of the room. Flip its lid for a Purple Rupee.
Leave the Bad Bat cave, and light one of your Deku Sticks on the torch outside. Return to the Bat Bat cave, and light its three unlit torches to open the north door. Go through to visit the next room.
Iron Knuckle Chamber
A mighty warrior awaits you in the small room beyond the Bad Bat cave: an Iron Knuckle. Fortunately, this fearsome fiend remains lifeless until you strike it. Stand back, and hit the Iron Knuckle with an arrow to wake it safely from afar.
Iron Knuckle
Damage: 4 Hearts
Beware these armored warriors, for the heavy axes that they wield inflict tremendous damage. Lock on and bait an Iron Knuckle into striking at you, then quickly backflip away. After dodging, strike the Iron Knuckle with Link’s blade, then leap back out of range again. Repeat this until you shatter the Iron Knuckle’s armor. At this point, the villain becomes faster and even more dangerous. Roll around to make the armorless Iron Knuckle miss you, then lock on again and resume dodging and countering until the menace finally falls. Bombs are also effective against Iron Knuckles, but they can be dangerous to use, especially after an Iron Knuckle has lost its armor.
Lock on and dodge the Iron Knuckle’s vicious blows, then quickly counter with a single sword strike before racing back out of range again. Don’t get greedy for damage; just land a single strike, and then flee. Roll around to escape the Iron Knuckle after it loses its armor and gains speed. Keep making it miss and countering, again landing only a single blow during each exchange.
Flat’s Tale
When the Iron Knuckle has finally fallen, a panel opens in the far wall, revealing a ghost and a gravestone. It’s the spirit of Flat, the Ikana Royal Family composer.
Flat explains that he and his brother, Sharp, composed all the songs connected to the Royal Family that remain in this grave. It seems that Sharp betrayed Flat and had his brother’s spirit sealed away in this awful grave.
Flat invites Link to learn a song that can cleanse the cursed, black soul of his brother, Sharp. Inspect the gravestone by locking on to it, then play the notes that are etched on the gravestone to learn the Song of Storms.
