The Beavers’ Bottle
Your Hookshot antics have led you to a special secluded place. Watch as a little beaver swims around the tranquil pond, then jump into the pond yourself.
-Target the beaver, which swims down to the bottom.
Put on the Zora Mask, and dive down to speak with the little beaver. He seems to know you and says that he’ll give you an Empty Bottle if you can swim through all of the rings in the river in under two minutes. Sounds like a fair deal.
Accept the beaver’s challenge, and he’ll tell you that there are 20 rings to swim through. You must swim through them all in the proper order, so don’t skip any. Jump into the water, tap
to sink toward the first ring, then hold
to swim through it. Keep holding
and use Circle Pad to swim upward, heading for the second ring. After that, simply follow the linear course through the subsequent tunnels, chasing the little beaver through each ring until you reach the end. Two minutes is plenty of time to work with, so don’t worry if you make some mistakes.
For the most part, you simply need to hold
to swim forward, making minor adjustments to your height and direction with [Circle Pad]. Use
for extra speed when you’re passing through straights—it’s a big timesaver. Run into underwater jars while holding
, and you’ll smash them and restore your magic power. Your magic power is also refilled after each race (even if you lose), so don’t feel the need to spare it.
Beat the beaver’s challenge, and he’ll call for his big brother. They aren’t ready to part with their precious Empty Bottle just yet. Big brother beaver demands that you beat him if you want the prize. The course and time limit are the same, but you’ll need to swim through 25 rings this time.
The additional rings make some of the maneuvers more challenging, but you still have two minutes to reach the end. Try to use
more often as you race big brother beaver around the course. Pass through all 25 rings in under two minutes to win your prize.
Empty Bottle #5
You got an Empty Bottle! You can carry various items in this. Equip the bottle, and use it to contain or release items.
Another Run around the Rapids
After you’ve obtained the Empty Bottle, swim over and speak to the beaver brothers again, and they’ll let you try an even tougher challenge. First, you’ll need to follow little brother beaver around the course, passing through 20 rings in under 1 minute and 50 seconds. Beat the little beaver, and his big brother then challenges you to a familiar follow-up race. Chase him through 25 rings and reach the end in under 1 minute and 50 seconds to win another fabulous prize: a Piece of Heart.
Piece of Heart #30
You got a Piece of Heart! Collect four Pieces of Heart to assemble a new Heart Container. Each new container you put together increases the amount of life energy you can have.
Back to the Graveyard
That’s enough frolicking around the Great Bay for the moment. Your next stop is Ikana Graveyard, but it must be the Night of the Second Day. If time has advanced to the Final Day, play the Song of Time to reset to the Dawn of the First Day. Ride Epona east along Ikana Road, hop the two metal fences, and then climb the wall to return to Ikana Graveyard. After you arrive, play the Song of Double Time and advance to the Night of the Second Day (6 p.m. on the Second Day).
