The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D eGuide Walkthrough Chapter 12: Love and Marriage

Clock Town

Through Link’s strength and heart, the foul curses that have plagued Termina’s four guardian spirits have at last been lifted. Our hero is now poised to bring the Skull Kid’s mischievous meddling to an end, but several tasks beg completion around Termina before the final confrontation. Follow along to finish up your good deeds around Termina, or flip ahead to the next chapter if you’d prefer to advance directly to the final battle.

Seeking Kafei

There’s no need to slow down time at the start of this new cycle, as you need the clock to strike 10 a.m. You can use the Song of Double Time to speed things up, if you like. When the hour approaches, head to the north end of East Clock Town, and enter the Mayor’s Official Residence after it opens at 10 a.m.

Inside the Mayor’s Residence, enter the door on the right side of the reception desk to visit a cozy lounge. Speak with the woman in yellow here, whose name is Madame Aroma, and agree to help find her missing son, Kafei. Madame Aroma then hands you Kafei’s Mask. However, it’s possible that you’ve already obtained this mask by speaking with Madame Aroma earlier in the adventure.

Kafei’s Mask

You’ve been given Kafei’s Mask and recruited to locate a missing person! Wear this to inquire about the missing Kafei.

Put on Kafei’s Mask, and begin questioning the townsfolk. You’ll learn that Kafei is having some sort of relationship problems with Anju, the girl who works at the Stock Pot Inn. Additionally, Kafei has been seen around the Laundry Pool. Question the locals until the clock nears 2:00 p.m., then enter the Stock Pot Inn, located in East Clock Town.

Anju takes up her post behind the front desk just before 2 p.m. Talk to her while wearing Kafei’s Mask, and you’ll learn that she waits every day for the postman to deliver news from him.

Special Delivery

Remain in the lobby until the postman arrives. He delivers a letter to Anju at the front desk at 2:10 p.m.

Wait until the letter is delivered, then speak with Anju again while still wearing Kafei’s Mask. She tells you that she’s just received a clue that can help you find Kafei, and she asks that you return to the inn at 11:30 p.m. and meet her in the kitchen. It’s a date!

There’s nothing urgent to do until your meeting with Anju. Leave the inn, and locate the nearby Deku Flower. Put on the Deku Mask, and then play the Song of Double Time to advance to 11 p.m. on the Night of the First Day. Afterward, dive into the Deku Flower to glide onto the Stock Pot Inn’s straw roof.

Cross the roof, and go through the door to enter the Stock Pot Inn’s second floor. (The inn’s front door is locked this late at night, so that’s why you’re using this entrance.)

Go downstairs to the kitchen, which is located at the end of the first floor’s hall. Wait in the kitchen for Anju to arrive; she shows up just before midnight. Speak with Anju, and she’ll tell you that she has received a letter from Kafei. Tell Anju that you’ll help her, and she’ll give you a letter to mail to Kafei in return.

Letter to Kafei

You were given a Letter to Kafei! Quick! Deliver it for Anju by taking it to a mailbox.

Exit the inn, and find a mailbox. (There’s one to the south near the Town Shooting Gallery.) Inspect the mailbox, and mail the letter that Anju gave you. Now you just need to wait for the postman to deliver it. That won’t happen until tomorrow, so play the Song of Double Time and skip ahead to the Dawn of the Second Day. The next part can be tricky, so it’s recommended that you save your game.

Meeting Kafei

The good people of Clock Town have hinted that Kafei has been seen around the Laundry Pool. Go to the Laundry Pool, which is found in Clock Town’s southwest corner, and cross the little bridge to reach a door to the north. The door is locked tightly—could Kafei be hiding in there?

Backtrack across the bridge, and hide behind the big tree near the pool. The postman arrives around 3 p.m. and rings the bell near the Laundry Pool’s bridge to signal a special delivery. To speed things up, use the Song of Double Time. Advance to 2 p.m. so you can watch the postman arrive.

After the postman rings the bell near the bridge, a masked child emerges from the locked door across the pool. You can’t let the masked child see you, so remain hidden behind the big tree until the child moves onto the bridge to meet the postman.

When the masked child nears the bridge, leap directly into the pool, and swim straight over to the north door from which the masked child emerged. You can’t use the bridge to cross the pool, or the child will see you and flee. Hurry and enter the door before the child returns and locks you out.

You did it! Once you’re through the door, head upstairs and wait for the masked child to return. Talk to the child when he arrives and agree to keep his secret. He’ll say that he trusts you and takes off his mask to reveal that he is, in fact, Kafei.

Curiously, Kafei appears to be a child, not an adult with whom a grown woman like Anju would have fallen in love. He explains that a strange masked imp turned him into a child. It must have been the Skull Kid! However, Kafei’s youthful appearance is not the reason for his shame. Instead, Kafei explains that a prancing man with a grinning face stole a precious wedding mask from him. Could he mean the evil thief that you’ve encountered in North Clock Town and Ikana Canyon?

Kafei won’t meet Anju without the wedding mask that he intends to give her. He has a plan to reclaim the wedding mask, but in the meantime, Kafei gives you a pendant that he asks you to deliver to Anju.

Pendant of Memories

You accepted the Pendant of Memories! Though you may not understand these grown-up matters, you should probably take the pendant to Anju, anyway.

Thanks for the Memories

The Pendant of Memories is a gift for Anju. Return to the Stock Pot Inn, and give Anju the Pendant of Memories to lift her spirits. Nice work! That’s all for today; exit the inn, and play the Song of Double Time to advance to the Dawn of the Final Day.

A Curious Turn

Head for the Laundry Pool. Enter Kafei’s hideout for a surprise: instead of Kafei, the man who runs the Curiosity Shop is waiting for you there.

The man from the Curiosity Shop informs you that he has a message from Kafei. It seems that the man has known Kafei all his life. In fact, years ago, the man gave Kafei the Keaton Mask that Kafei has been wearing to hide his youthful appearance around town. Kafei seems to have left the Keaton Mask behind, and although he isn’t sure why, the man decides to give it to you.

Keaton Mask

You got the Keaton Mask! This is Kafei’s mask of memories. Accepting this keepsake doesn’t make much sense to you, but you should still take it.

The man goes on to say that Kafei wants you to get a letter to his mom, and he hands you an express mail package. He then says that a customer came to his shop last night. It was Sakon, the greedy thief, and Kafei chased him out of the shop. The man says that he believes Sakon lives in Ikana Village.

Special Delivery to Mama

You were given a Special Delivery to Mama. This is priority mail, so hurry up and deliver it!

Mail for Mama

You’ll be getting some use out of the Keaton Mask eventually, but first, you’ve got to deliver that express mail. There are two ways to deliver it; the best way is covered here first. First, save your game. Then, head to East Clock Town, and locate the Latte Milk Bar near the east gate. Play the Inverted Song of Time to slow down time, then play the Song of Double Time to advance to the Night of the Final Day (6 p.m. exactly). Use Romani’s Mask afterward to enter the bar.

Kafei’s mom, Madame Aroma (whom you met in the Mayor’s Official Residence before), sits at the Milk Bar’s counter during the Night of the Final Day. Swap Romani’s Mask for Kafei’s Mask, and then speak with Madame Aroma. Give her the Special Delivery to Mama that you’re carrying.

Thrilled to hear from her long-lost son, Kafei, Madame Aroma hands you a new bottle that’s filled with top-shelf Chateau Romani. After you’ve polished off its potent contents, the Empty Bottle is yours to keep.

Bottle of Chateau Romani

You got a Bottle of Chateau Romani! Drink it to replenish your magic power and make it everlasting. Swirl it around with your tongue to enjoy its flavor to the fullest. Its effects will last until you travel back in time.

Empty Bottle #7

You got an Empty Bottle! You can carry various items in this. Equip the bottle, and use it to contain or release items.

To Sakon’s Hideout!

With any luck, it’s still well before 7 p.m. on the Night of the Final Day. You don’t have much time, so don’t bother leaving the bar; soar directly to Ikana Canyon instead.

When you arrive in Ikana Canyon, put on the Stone Mask, and then leap from the south cliff and splash down in the river. Climb onto the dock near the Octoroks, and then sprint eastward along the riverbank, passing through a cave tunnel.

Follow the riverbank to its east end. If you’ve gotten here quickly (before 7 p.m.), you’ll notice the evil thief, Sakon, running ahead of you. The Stone Mask ensures that you won’t startle Sakon, who’s slinking off to his secret hideout.

Run past Sakon, and hide behind the large rocks at the riverbank’s end. Hey, Kafei is hiding back there, too! That’s right: the thief stole a precious mask from Kafei, so Kafei must have tracked Sakon here, as well. Take off the Stone Mask to speak with Kafei to confirm this.

Hide behind the rocks with Kafei until Sakon opens the door to his nearby hideout. Kafei chases Sakon into the hideout, but he could be getting in over his head. Hurry after Kafei, and lend him a hand.
