A sequel was released for the Wii 15 years after the last Punch-Out!! title. Developed by Next Level Games (Super Mario Strikers, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon), Punch-Out!! retained much of the series’ core gameplay mechanics and charismatic visuals. A dozen classic boxers from previous games join several new ones, including Donkey Kong!
Doc Louis’s Punch-Out!!
2009, Wii
A standalone prequel to 2009’s Punch-Out!!, Doc Louis’s Punch-Out!! was released exclusively via the WiiWare service as a Platinum reward for the now-defunct Club Nintendo. The spin-off spans three increasingly difficult matches where Little Mac spars with his coach, the titular Doc Louis.
