Sluggy the Unshaven
Sluggy makes brilliant use of the game’s advanced sprite-manipulation techniques. This enlarged Sluggy’s heart is his only weak point, but it’s protected by his blob-like form. Hitting Sluggy with Eggs puts dents in the gelatinous giant, eventually carving a path that exposes the heart.
Raphael the Raven
One of the coolest Super Mario boss encounters of all time, Yoshi and Raphael’s showdown takes place ON THE MOON. It’s admittedly a very petite moon, but a moon nonetheless. This boss battle has a particularly hectic soundtrack, letting you know that you’re in for a fight. As Yoshi moves around the moon, the screen rotates with him, creating a dizzying, but visually impressive, experience.
