Fortress Boss: Reznor
Named after Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor during Nintendo of America’s English localization process, this quartet of fire-breathing triceratops sits perched on rotating platforms. Mario must hit the platforms below to knock off each Reznor before the floor completely breaks away. Reznors reappear as the bosses of all four fortresses in the game.

Vanilla Dome 4
Vanilla Dome 4 is set to a backdrop of glimmering stars. Brightly colored green and white platforms are offset just enough to create a relentless series of bottomless pits for any careless Marios to fall in. A warp pipe transports players far below, to an underground area filled with lava, further contributing to the levels’ contrasting visuals.
