“I always liked Super Metroid, and played it a lot in my childhood. The design of Samus’ armor, and that of the bosses, inspire me to draw to this day. I wanted to create a material that could express my gratitude for this title. I selected some reference pictures of Samus wearing my favorite armor and added the most intriguing boss of the game, Kraid. I remember feeling astonished to see him become a giant in the first fight—it was a unique emotion! I wanted my fanart to showcase the fear of facing a giant boss in a hostile environment full of thorns.”
