“I remember when I got Super NES with Donkey Kong Country from Switzerland. Poland didn’t quite have the Nintendo consoles and games in stores yet. I was about three or four years old, so it might have been my first game ever. I was surprised that it wasn’t some sort of 3D cartoon, and you could interact with the ape on the TV screen! I wanted to draw fan arts for each game from the Donkey Kong series, so I started with the first game. My inspiration was the first, most recognizable level. It brought back many memories. The game had amazing music and pre-rendered graphics which pushed Super NES to the limit. It was a really good platformer with various levels. I still sometimes listen to the soundtrack and follow the creators on Twitter.”
