“My inspiration for this piece came through another piece of art with beautiful ice effects. I wanted to achieve the same look with Nintendo art. I remembered the Slipslide Ride level of Donkey Kong Country on the Super NES, and realized it would be a perfect level for me to achieve my goal. The artistic direction and music in the series was always sensational, and the extreme charisma of the little monkeys captivated me.”
