Escort Gabriel Paez to Extraction

During this sequence, it’s your job to keep Paez alive while escorting him through the streets. The Ghosts arrange themselves in a diamond formation, a formation designed to protect VIPs while moving through hostile environments. Paez may be little more than a low-level gun runner, but his intel is critical to the mission, so his survival is paramount. With one hand on Paez at all times, your other hand is free to carry only a pistol. As you exit the structure where Paez was being held, a pickup equipped with a machine gun pulls up outside and begins firing. Immediately fire your pistol at the gunner, then eliminate the driver and any other hostiles that move into view.

Tactical Challenge: Ace of Diamonds

After eliminating the first wave of enemies, the team moves toward the disabled pickup truck for cover. During this sequence, you don’t need to worry about movement—the team moves for you. All you have to do is worry about aiming and shooting. When you take cover near the pickup truck, an enemy opens fire with a mounted machine gun positioned on the nearby building. Don’t worry too much about accuracy here. Fire multiple rounds at the machine gunner, then carefully take aim at his friends in an effort to score more headshots.

The Ghosts continue advancing in the diamond formation, encountering a steady stream of resistance along the way. As the team moves, take aim and open fire on the hostiles that move into view. Numerous civilians are mixed into the crowds, so watch your fire. Enemy contacts are marked with an orange diamond icon that makes them easier to spot. Continue firing your pistol throughout the advance, scoring as many headshots as possible. The Ghosts eventually find safety after passing through a shed, ending the diamond-formation sequence and the mission. Hopefully Paez was worth the trouble.
