Protect the Crowd
General Douka’s men have broken through Raven’s Rock’s defensive line and are currently securing the streets of Moscow. Crowds have swarmed the streets, greeting Douka’s men as heroes. But there are still a few Raven’s Rock hardliners in town hoping to spoil the victory parade. The Ghosts are here to make sure Douka’s advance and President Volodin’s return go off without a hitch. In addition to supporting Douka’s advance, the Ghosts are tasked with tracking down and eliminating General Bukharov. Intel reports place Bukharov in the city, organizing Raven’s Rock defenses from the old FSB headquarters. But for now, the Ghosts must protect the crowds rallying support for the Resistance. The more chaos the crowd creates, the better your shot at taking out Bukharov.
The Ghosts begin on the street, ready to move to high ground in an effort protect demonstrators. Not far from the insertion point, a T-90 tank rolls through the intersection ahead. Keep your Optical Camo active and follow the tank through the intersection, toward a large plaza filled with Russian troops loyal to Raven’s Rock. You can’t risk an alert, so forget about an assault. Plus, you don’t have the firepower to take out that tank. Instead, look for a way to slip past these hostile units. Deploy the UAV over the plaza to get a better view.
Ascend the stairs on the far right side of the plaza to reach an elevated walkway ringing the perimeter. Follow this path to reach the entrance of the nearby apartment building. However, you’ll need to clear out a couple of riflemen first. Pause at the top of the steps and wait for two riflemen to approach from the left. Keep your distance and stay behind cover to avoid being spotted. The pair climb a second set of steps parallel to the path and begin to move along the walkway away from you. Stay behind cover and take aim at their backs with your suppressed weapon—shoot them both in the back of the head with short, controlled bursts. If you act quickly (and aim accurately) you can eliminate both riflemen without raising an alert.
With the two patrolling riflemen down, the path to the apartment building is now clear. However, you still need to keep a low profile to avoid being detected. As the path turns left, toss a Sensor toward the waypoint to highlight two riflemen standing on the edge of the walkway staring out toward the plaza. Each rifleman is standing next to a mounted machine gun. But you don’t need to kill these guys. Their backs are turned, so simply walk past them and proceed toward the apartment building’s entrance. Unfortunately this building isn’t equipped with an elevator. So follow your team up several flights of stairs until a cinematic is triggered, showing thousands of protestors filling the streets below.

Following the cinematic, the Ghosts stack up next to a room occupied by two Raven’s Rock snipers. Stay behind cover on the left side of the doorway and mark both snipers. Next, peek through the doorway and take aim at one of the snipers while a teammate aims at the other one—squeeze your trigger to initiate the sync-shot. Eliminating the two snipers clears the floor. Step inside the room and resupply from the ammo crate. If you didn’t bring along a sniper rifle, grab the KSVK from the nearby weapon box.
Shortly after eliminating the two snipers, Overlord reports that President Volodin has joined the procession in the streets. There are reports of enemy infantry occupying buildings along Volodin’s route. You need to clear out any nearby threats before the President arrives. At this point, a timer appears on the HUD, giving your team seven minutes until President Volodin arrives. Take cover below the window and deploy the UAV. Fly the UAV toward the “Secure” waypoint marker to spot a lone sniper standing on the corner of a distant rooftop. Mark the sniper, then have one of your teammates take him out—or take the shot yourself.
Eliminating the sniper causes a flurry of activity on the rooftop, as two more snipers rush into view; they are attempting to target your team. Spot the new snipers through your rifle’s scope, or with the UAV and mark them for your team. While peeking out of cover, you’re vulnerable to incoming sniper rounds. If you wish to complete the Dodge the Dot tactical challenge, you need to avoid getting hit by a sniper for the entire mission. So consider staying behind cover and issuing focus fire orders for your team through the UAV view. If you do engage the enemy snipers, watch for red aiming lasers pointed in your direction. If you see an aiming laser, immediately duck behind cover before you’re acquired by one of the snipers and shot.
After eliminating the two snipers on the rooftop, shift to the right side of the room and scan the large skyscraper across the street. Three snipers are hiding in this building, barely visible through the windows. Stay behind cover and fly the drone over toward the building to locate and mark the snipers. From the UAV view you can see the glint of sunlight reflecting off each sniper’s scope. Use this reflection to zero-in on each sniper and issue a focus-fire order so your teammates can take them out.
Now shift back to the left side of the room and refocus on the distant rooftop, which has been occupied by one more enemy sniper. Locate the sniper with the UAV, and mark him for your teammates. While scanning for the sniper, listen for the sound of an approaching chopper. Make sure you’re behind cover when an Mi-24 appears and begins strafing the floor with its chin-mounted turret. There’s no way to counter the chopper’s attack, so just stay behind cover and wait for the strafing run to end. Following the chopper attack, more snipers appear at both buildings. Mark the sniper on the rooftop first, then shift to the skyscraper across the street, where two more snipers are positioned in windows. Once again, use the UAV to locate and mark these snipers.
Once all the snipers have been eliminated, the area is clear, allowing President Volodin to join the demonstrators without incident. The Ghosts can now hunt down General Bukharov. Resupply from the ammo crate before regrouping with your team in the adjoining hallway. A cinematic shows news coverage of President Volodin arriving in the street and whipping the crowd into a frenzy.
