Cullen, Leliana, and Josephine are indispensable advisors to the Inquisition, relying on their experience and connections to provide insight on a variety of topics. But these three rarely see eye to eye, often arguing over the best course of action. As Inquisitor, it’s your job to take the advice from these advisors and make the decision you feel is best. In addition to providing intelligence and advice, the advisors are tasked with fulfilling the orders of the Inquisitor. Even if they don’t always agree with your decisions, the advisors are loyal and will do their best to make your will a reality.
Cullen

Romance: Inquisitor must be female human or elf.
Cullen has seen the worst that magic and corruption can do to innocent people. Trained from a young age, he has devoted more than half his life in service to the Templar Order. He saw the Ferelden Circle fall during the Blight and was witness to the mage-templar conflict that tore Kirkwall apart. In the aftermath, it was Cullen who rallied what remained of Kirkwall’s templars to restore order to the devastated city. His leadership and integrity caught the attention of Cassandra Pentaghast, who recognized in him a vital component in forming the Inquisition. Now the world is falling into chaos. Cullen is through waiting for others to act, and he’s determined that the Inquisition will make a difference for the people of Thedas.
Romance
If playing as a female elf or human, you can initiate a romantic relationship with Cullen. Take every opportunity to flirt with Cullen during conversations to progress the romance. However, these conversation options will not arise if you’re currently in a relationship with someone else. If you want to pursue Cullen, call off any other relationships first.
Because he’s a templar, lyrium is a very sensitive subject for Cullen. If you want to keep the possibility of a romance open, never order Cullen to take lyrium. If you persist in ordering Cullen to take lyrium, change your mind in the follow-up or tell him he can find a better way after the war. If you order Cullen to take lyrium, he will break up with you, or if the relationship hasn’t started, it will now be impossible.
If you want to end the relationship with Cullen, you can do so by speaking to him in Skyhold (choose “We need to end this.”) You can also break up with him during a heightened moment during his romance arc.
Leliana

She has many names. Most know her as “Sister Nightingale” or “the Left Hand of the Divine.” To the rare friend, she is Leliana. They say she found faith amid darkness, and that her devotion to the Maker is matched only by her devotion to Divine Justinia V, a woman who is both mentor and savior. Those who have earned her loyalty know her as a steadfast ally. But enemies of the Divine know to fear her, for she is the shadow behind the Sunburst Throne—the one who watches and waits, who strikes when her mark is most vulnerable and least suspecting.
Josephine

Romance: Inquisitor can be any race or gender.
The Inquisition’s power is not absolute: It must earn its place among the forces in conflict. Sister Leliana understands this well and has called on an old friend, Lady Josephine Montilyet, to be the Inquisition’s ambassador in the halls of the influential. The eldest daughter of a noble Antivan family, Josephine is a rising star among diplomats, skilled at forging alliances with tact, grace, and carefully cultivated favors. She is a consummate planner who understands that resurrecting the Inquisition will require support and goodwill from Thedas’s movers and shakers. Fortunately, the ambassador enjoys a challenge, and she sincerely believes that the Inquisition is the best way to halt the chaos sweeping Thedas.
Romance
Josephine can enter a romance with an Inquisitor of any race or gender. Talk to Josephine in Skyhold, and when romance options come up, take them. At some point Josephine will tell you Leliana wanted to speak with you—go to Leliana after that, and she’ll ask you about your romantic intentions toward Josephine. Return to Josephine after that talk with Leliana, and that will trigger the conversations where you can choose to start the romance. You will now see a few new conversation options with Josephine. Taking them and coming back to speak with her advances the plot of the romance.
If you want to end the relationship with Josephine, speak to her at her desk in Skyhold. Choose “Let’s talk about us” and then tell her you want to end things to permanently call off the romance. You can also break up with her during a crucial moment in her romance plot. Both these options have a broken-heart icon to indicate this will break off your romantic relationship with Josephine.
Morrigan: Liaison to the Inquisition Whether the dark-haired sorceress seeks to influence the Imperial throne or harbors more sinister motives, no one knows for certain. This Witch of the Wilds arrived in Orlais rather suddenly three years ago as the newly appointed “arcane advisor” to Empress Celene. In this role, Morrigan presents a source of information unfiltered by religious dogma, and she satisfies Celene’s lifelong curiosity about magic. However, whispers carry concern of Morrigan having Celene wrapped around her finger and teaching the empress forbidden, dark arts in secret. Following events at the Winter Palace in Halamshiral, Morrigan is assigned as an Imperial liaison to the Inquisition. While not a party member or advisor, Morrigan plays a key role as the Inquisition ventures into the Arbor Wilds. |
