Dragon Age Inquisition eGuide Getting Started

Mounts

For the first time, mounts are available in Dragon Age. But before you can fill your stables with horses, dracolisks, and harts, you must find Horsemaster Dennet in the Hinterlands—he gives you a Fereldan Forder and the opportunity to purchase more mounts at your stable. Mounts offer a quick way to traverse the vast landscapes of Ferelden and Orlais. And while mounts are fast, they aren’t capable of outrunning attacks. If your mount takes damage, you’ll be thrown off. So it’s best to dismount before approaching hostile units. If you use mounts frequently, consider choosing the Rider’s Posture and Antivan-Stitched Saddle Inquisition perks to decrease your chances of being unseated. With these perks unlocked, your mount can absorb more damage before throwing you off. For more information on mounts, reference the Skyhold section in the Exploration chapter.
