Dragon Age Inquisition eGuide Multiplayer

The Character Classes

As in the single-player game, there are three basic classes that all 12 characters fall into: warrior, mage, and rogue. A balanced party will have at least one of each category in their ranks, with the fourth party member falling into whichever preference the group may have. You start multiplayer with the Legionnaire, the Keeper, and the Archer all unlocked and ready to use. Classes generally fall into distinct roles:

  • Warriors: The frontliners, these characters act as tanks, shielding the party from physical violence while dishing out some of their own.
  • Mages: The lightly armored magic users combine support skills with powerful elemental magics meant to control and crush the enemy.
  • Rogues: These characters inflict high damage, mixed with some battlefield control utility. These scouts can kill the enemy quickly from up close or afar, but they won’t survive long if they catch too much attention.

To fully clear a mission, you need one of each class at the very least, not just to handle combat better, but to be able to bypass barriers that stand between you and alternative paths through a level or treasure. Warriors can kick down weakened walls, mages can dispel magical barriers, and rogues can pick locked doors.
