Following the destruction of Haven, an abandoned castle in the Dales known as Skyhold now houses the only thing keeping Thedas from its darkest hour. Skyhold is larger and significantly more defensible. It should serve the Inquisition well.

The Inquisition comes to Skyhold during the From the Ashes quest, following the attack on Haven. Upon their arrival, Skyhold is in great disrepair, crumbling due to years of abandonment and neglect. Little by little, the Inquisition fortifies the walls and applies regal decor, fitting of the up-and-coming organization. As the castle takes shape, you have the option of customizing Skyhold, choosing everything from drapery and heraldry to thrones and beds. Once established, Skyhold functions much like Haven. Come here to meet with the war council to discuss the Inquisition’s plans. The Inquisitor can also judge prisoners of the Inquisition, determining their fate in the throne room. Skyhold is home to merchants, party members, and various support staff. So take the time to visit with your people to stay apprised of what’s happening. Your party members always have interesting things to say and may even ask for help in completing inner circle quests.
