The templars have left Val Royeaux and refuse to negotiate with anyone. Gather enough power, then work with the advisors to make contact with the templars.
Once you’ve made the decision to form an alliance with the templars, go to the war room. Here you have one last chance to choose between the mages and templars. If you want to ally with the mages, choose In Hushed Whispers—reference the previous section for that walkthrough. But if you want to ally with the templars, choose Champions of the Just on the war table. This operation costs a whopping 15 power. So if you don’t have enough power yet, head back to the Hinterlands and complete more quests. The Storm Coast and Fallow Mire also offer plenty of power-building opportunities.
As part of the plan to gain favor with the templars and Lord Seeker Lucius, Josephine suggests allying with a number of noble houses in Orlais. These nobles will accompany you to Therinfal Redoubt, strengthening the Inquisition’s hand. When choosing your party for this operation, consider taking two warriors, a mage, and a rogue. If you’re not playing as a rogue, be sure to take Varric or Sera along with you—there are plenty of locked doors in Therinfal Redoubt that can only be unlocked by a rogue.
