Astrariums
Astrariums are strange Tevinter devices strewn about in threes around different locales across Thedas. Solving the three astrarium puzzles within a locale grants you access to a special vault containing rare pieces of gear.
Bottles on the Wall
There are 29 bottles on the wall hidden throughout Thedas, typically found by searching areas where your mini-map starts pinging at you.
High Dragons
Ten high dragons have been spotted in Ferelden and Orlais. The largest and most dangerous predators in the wilds, high dragons are a menace to any settlement they decide is too close to their own territory. Hunting them down is a dangerous proposition, but the rewards are worth it. The rarest crafting materials come from high dragons, and you can find powerful weapons and equipment on their corpses. Each locale that has a high dragon has a special section dedicated to defeating her, and there’s a special quest for taking down all 10 high dragons.
Inquisition Camps
Every locale has a number of camps you can establish in the name of the Inquisition. Not only do you get power, experience, and influence from doing this, but you gain new points you can fast travel between.
Regions
Every locale has a number of regions to discover. Regions are added to your list simply by walking or riding your horse into them.
Landmarks
There are certain monuments and locations that can be claimed by planting an Inquisition flag next to them. Unlike regions, landmarks will show up on your map if you get close enough to them.
Mosaic Pieces
There are five sets of mosaic pieces located throughout Thedas: Sacrifice, Invasion, The Fall, Archdemon, and Freed Are Slaves. Each set has been broken up into 12 pieces.
Oculara and Shards
Oculara are strange, skull-tipped monuments found throughout Thedas. Going up to them allows you to search the area they are facing and discover hidden shards. Highlighting the shards with a ocularum reveals them on your map. From there on, the challenge is just to reach and collect them.
Glyphs
Occasionally, you will find yourself in places that can be illuminated by veilfire torches lit by mages. Veilfire can also reveal hidden glyphs and runes on the walls. Some of these glyphs are just for codex entries. Some contain special recipes for potions or schematics for runes you can enchant weapons with.
Song Lyrics
In between rounds of slaughtering wildlife in your quest to save the world, you can listen to bards singing tales. You can also find some songs by uncovering landmarks or finding lyrics written on a parchment. In total, there are 21 songs to collect for true patrons of the arts.
A Word on Loot
Loot is everywhere. Be it the ancient vases of a dead empire or a chest found in an abandoned cottage, loot is guaranteed to be found wherever you go. However, what you find isn’t necessarily set in stone, and in fact most loot stashes are random in nature. You can’t guarantee that you will get the same items that someone else playing the game was lucky to receive. Still, it’s worth the effort to search for any loot chests or containers throughout the world. At the very least, you can sell what you don’t need for cash, and occasionally you might find crafting recipes that are not available in any shops.
