Advanced Titan Customization

Learning how all the Titan weapons, abilities, and kits function is key to creating effective loadouts. Now that you have a grasp of all the customization options, start thinking about what kind of Titan loadouts you’d like to create. Not all customization options are immediately available—level up and complete challenges to unlock more options. Here we take a look at some sample Titan loadouts. Although effective, some of these loadouts might not suit your style of play. So simply reference these loadouts as an example of what’s possible and study how the different components complement one another.

Specialized Loadouts

A large part of customizing your Titan is determining what kind of role you want to play on the battlefield. Are you mainly interested in hunting Grunts or Spectres? Or do you want to take the fight directly to enemy Titans? Your answers will help influence the kind of Titan loadout you want to create. These sample loadouts offer a glimpse at the possibilities awaiting you. Try them out as shown, or further customize them, making them your own.

Lightning Master

Equipped with the powerful Arc Cannon, this Atlas configuration excels at wiping out enemy Grunts and Spectres—the electricity from each shot can arc across multiple targets. But this loadout is also very effective when attacking enemy Titans. When confronting a Titan, deploy the Particle Wall and begin charging the Arc Cannon, firing when it when it reaches its full charge. The Particle Wall will keep you safe until you get the first charged shot off. Assuming you scored a hit, you’ll have a serious advantage in the ensuing battle, where you can rely on dashes to evade incoming projectiles while firing Cluster Missiles and the Arc Cannon to deal more damage. When possible, take cover or deploy another Particle Wall to let your shields recharge—the Regen Booster will decrease the amount of time it takes for your bodyshield to replenish. Meanwhile, the Core Extender increases the duration of the Atlas’ Damage Core. When paired with the Arc Cannon, Damage Core is extremely powerful, even when you’re outnumbered.

Brawler

This Ogre loadout is ideal for taking the fight to close range, where it can dish out devastating damage in one-on-one Titan battles. The Quad Rocket is a solid weapon at close range, and the Rapid Fire mod increases its rate of fire and magazine capacity. Pour on more hurt using the Cluster Missile Ordnance, capable of wiping out large groups of minions and damaging Titans with a single shot. Use the Electric Smoke Tactical Ability to deter rodeo attacks or to flank and confuse enemy Titans—the Tactical Reactor Kit ensures you can use this ability with greater frequency. While active, Electric Smoke deals damage to all enemies it touches, so don’t miss the opportunity to use this ability offensively too. Finally, while fighting in the Electric Smoke, score a few melee strikes. The Big Punch Tier 2 Kit significantly increases the damage output of melee attacks, perfect for finishing off damaged Titans.

Sharpshooter

This loadout is all about avoiding direct contact with enemy Titans. Instead, use the Stryder’s speed and agility to keep your distance from chaotic close-quarter Titan battles and engage from long range using the Plasma Railgun. Upon spotting a distant Titan, take aim, charge up the Plasma Railgun, and fire the first shot—this will likely get the enemy Titan’s attention. Deploy the Particle Wall to deflect incoming projectiles while continuing to fire fully charged shots from the Plasma Railgunscoring critical hits with this weapon is absolutely devastating. If enemy Titans get too close, simply retreat and reengage from a different long-range perspective. The Dash Quickcharger and Core Accelerator Kits ensure optimal mobility, perfect for staging high-damage hit-and-run attacks. This loadout works best when working with other Titans—stay back and score long-range hits while your buddies move in and draw most of the fire.

Pro Loadouts

Want to know how the pros play? When jumping into a match, StrongSide, Walshy, and Flamesword have their go-to Titan loadouts ready. Here’s a look at some of their favorite Titan loadouts.

Pro Tip: Flamesword

All the Tactical Abilities come in handy when using the Stryder. Vortex Shield and Particle Wall allow you to halt incoming fire, keeping the Stryder alive longer to replenish your dashes. Electric Smoke is super effective when Dash Core is activated. Dash to the enemy, drop Electric Smoke, and then retreat—you’ll damage the enemy Titan and have them blinded while in the smoke.

StrongSide’s Atlas Loadout

The Atlas is my favorite Titan because of its versatility. The XO-16 Chaingun is an easy way to take out enemy Pilots with only a couple bullets. Attaching the Accelerator mod juices up this primary weapon to deal massive damage to enemy Titans, especially if the Titan is in an open area. The Accelerator also makes your magazine capacity massive, which allows you to kill a few enemy Pilots and jump right into battle with an enemy Titan without the need to reload. The Particle Wall is great to use in many situations. The best time to use Particle Wall is in an alleyway, which forces the enemy Titan to retreat or charge you to deal damage to your Titan. The Multi-Target Missile System is good to deal that little bit of extra damage to keep you winning a battle. The good thing about the Multi-Target Missile System is that it is almost always a guaranteed hit when locked on. The reason I use Nuclear Ejection and Auto-Eject together is so that I can always get away as a Pilot and return to fight another day.

Walshy’s Ogre Loadout

My loadout is great for dishing out damage while protecting my Titan from incoming damage. I use the 40mm Cannon and force fights at mid-range because it can handle Pilots and Titans at this distance. I prefer my Tactical Ability to be Particle Wall. I use it when an enemy Titan is out in the open and can’t avoid the fight or the enemy Titan shoots its ordnance at me. For my ordnance, I choose the Multi-Target Missile System because it plays similar to the 40mm Cannon where I just deal out small amounts of damage that quickly adds up when I lock on a few missiles at a time. For my Tier 1 Kit, I use Dash Quickcharger. Using my dashes and Particle Wall, I can usually run from fights where I am at a disadvantage—most people make the mistake of fighting to the death when you don’t have to. However, when I do know I am going to die and can’t avoid it, I have the perk of my Tier 2 Kit, where I can keep dishing out damage to nearby Titans until I eject myself at the last possible second. All around I find this loadout to be a safe choice because I can one-shot minions and Pilots along with going toe-to-toe against any Titan loadout.

Flamesword’s Stryder Loadout

This loadout and Titan Chassis fits my play style perfectly. I am a very aggressive player, so I always equip the Dash Quickcharger to enhance the Stryder’s greatest asset-its speed. The XO-16 Chaingun equipped with the Accelerator mod is the perfect weapon at all ranges, allowing me to provide cover fire until I make my way to the front lines. This is where having Cluster Missile and Particle Wall comes in handy. I often dash into an enemy Titan and punch it from the side. Once it turns around and engages me, I drop the Particle Wall and begin firing my Chaingun, forcing the enemy Titan to either run away or dash through my wall. If it comes through the Particle Wall, at that exact moment, I fire a Cluster Missile on my side of the wall, inflicting heavy damage. Finally, the Core Extender allows me to freely dash around the map and help friendly Pilots or Titans. When I engage an enemy Titan with my Dash Core ability activated, they don’t stand a chance.
