Capture the Flag

Tactics

  • When defending the flag located in the Office Building, a player with the EVA-8 Shotgun will prove to be very effective. Take up a corner and defend the objective. Wall hanging is very useful inside. If you kill an enemy Pilot, be sure to mix up your spots from crouching in a corner to wall hanging.
  • The flag on the Militia’s first initial spawn side is located in an open area, so sitting near the flag is less effective. Instead, be sure to plant Arc Mines around the objective to weaken or kill enemy Pilots who try to grab your flag. Placing two Arc Mines will kill a incoming enemy Pilot. Defend this Militia flag by keeping your distance and killing incoming enemy Pilots.

  • Once you grab the flag in the Office Building, get off the street as quickly as you can. Immediately use the building’s doorway exit facing the Up Mart to gain momentum to make it into the Up Mart. From there, you have many paths to take to capture the flag.

  • Running the flag as a Pilot down the middle isn’t always the safest route, but it is definitely the quickest route when a Titan isn’t available. When you grab the flag in the open area, to quickly make it to the Bar you need to exit and jump on the wall of the building to pick up speed. From here, double jump at the end to make it to the Bar. You can continue wall running or enter the Bar. Entering the Bar lets your teammates spot out the enemies so you can pick the safest path to run the flag.
Pro Tip: Walshy

As you get closer to capturing the flag, be sure to check the corners around your base for enemy Pilots hiding with close-quarter weapons or have a teammate run into your base first to scan the area. Nothing is worse than making it right to your base and dying because an enemy was able to sneak by. This is important when capturing inside the Office Building. Enemy Pilots can be waiting inside, so throw grenades or send teammates in first to make sure it is clear.

  • Overall, controlling the rooftops will be the key to success. Once you gain control, you can rain fire from above. Pilots can easily get into a rhythm and pick off opposing players as they try to jump to the top of a building. Having the height advantage allows your team to move freely around the map.
