Titanfall eGuide Pilots

Anti-Titan Weapons

There’s no threat too dangerous for Pilots to handle, including enemy Titans. These devastating weapons have the ability to cripple and even destroy damaged Titans. With the exception of the Archer Heavy Rocket, these weapons can also be deployed against enemy Pilots and minions as well, giving Pilots more offensive capability. Complete challenges associated with each Anti-Titan weapon to earn bonus XP and Burn Cards.

Archer Heavy Rocket

The Archer fires a powerful homing rocket. It must be locked on a target before it can be fired. When aimed, a targeting window flips out, allowing target acquisition. Hold this window over the target continuously until a lock is achieved, and then fire.

Strengths:
  • Guided rocket with high accuracy
Weaknesses:
  • Lengthy lock-on procedure
Weapon Performance

Magazine Capacity: 1

Weapon Unlock: Level 1

Field Notes

  • This weapon is a great way to deal a massive amount of damage to an unsuspecting Titan. However, the weapon is ineffective when fighting a Titan head-on due to the lack of manual fire and having a long lock-on time—you must aim at a Titan and achieve a lock before the weapon can be fired. The most difficult part of using this weapon is following up after you score a hit with the initial rocket. Be sure to have cover nearby because the Titan can tell when the Archer locks on. The Titan will surely be gunning for you after you hit it once. Better yet, target a heavily damaged Titan to doom it, and then prepare to engage the ejecting Pilot.

Sidewinder

The Sidewinder is a rapid-fire micro-missile launcher. It is effective against large targets, but lacks precision due to its large spread. The micro-missiles it fires do not yield a large area effect on detonation due to their shaped-charge design.

Strengths:
  • Rapid fire weapon with large magazine
Weaknesses:
  • Inflicts minimal damage per hit
Weapon Performance

Magazine Capacity: 25

Weapon Unlock: Level 1

Field Notes

  • The Sidewinder is a great weapon to send a volley of rockets from a mid-close range distance to an enemy Titan. This weapon is most effective when coupled with an Arc Grenade for a hit and run against a dazed Titan. This weapon can also be used for a rodeo attack, but be careful—you will take splash damage from your own rockets and will kill yourself if you shoot more than a full magazine. With its fast rate of fire, you need to keep the pressure on by scoring a hit every few seconds to prevent the enemy Titan from recharging its shields. In addition to taking out Titans, the Sidewinder is a capable anti-Pilot and anti-minion weapon.

Mag Launcher

The Mag Launcher fires magnetic grenades. When fired, if they pass close enough to enemy Titans, the grenades will veer towards the hostile Titans and stick to them before detonating.

Strengths:
  • High-damage indirect-fire munitions stick to enemy Titans
Weaknesses:
  • Limited accuracy and range
Weapon Performance

Magazine Capacity: 5

Weapon Unlock: Level 22

Field Notes

  • The Mag Launcher is a super-effective Anti-Titan weapon because of its unique ability. When you fire the grenades in the direction of the Titan, they will track the Titan and explode on impact. This makes the Mag Launcher weapon effective, because you can use your surroundings to take cover and just lob grenades over obstacles to avoid taking damage direct from the Titan. However, don’t attempt to use this weapon while rodeo attacking a Titan—you’ll blow yourself up. This weapon also allows you to turn around and block off doorways as you run away from enemy Pilots. They will be weak enough for you to finish them off with a primary weapon.

Charge Rifle

The Charge Rifle fires an energy beam that inflicts massive damage. Holding the firing trigger charges the weapon. Timing is critical to its use: this weapon will only fire when it reaches full charge, and it will discharge automatically as soon as it hits full charge.

Strengths:
  • Extremely high damage
Weaknesses:
  • Slow charge time
Weapon Performance

Magazine Capacity: 500

Weapon Unlock: Level 33

Field Notes

  • The Charge Rifle may take a while to charge, but it deals a high amount of damage to a Titan. This is also the longest range and most accurate Anti-Titan weapon. You’re able to shoot across the map and deal damage from a distance. It is best used against Titans when you have cover to retreat behind. Once you’ve located a Titan, charge up this weapon behind cover and only expose yourself to fire the weapon. After firing the weapon, retreat behind cover and repeat the process. Try moving and attacking from different positions after each attack to keep the enemy Titan guessing the next position you’ll attack from. The Charge Rifle is also the only Anti-Titan weapon you can use to rodeo attack a Titan without inflicting damage to yourself. While it’s possible to kill Pilots and minions with this weapon, you’re better off sticking with your primary weapon.
