Titanfall eGuide Pilots

Sidearms

Every Pilot needs a backup for those times when their primary weapon runs out of ammo. Although there are only three to choose from, these sidearms have distinct characteristics, giving Pilots ample tactical variety. Unlike the primary weapons, sidearms cannot be fitted with attachments or mods. However, you can complete a number of challenges with each sidearm to earn bonus XP and Burn Cards.

RE-45 Autopistol

The RE-45 is a fully automatic .45-caliber pistol, sacrificing damage and accuracy at longer distances for improved effectiveness at close range.

Strengths:
  • Fully automatic handgun ideal for close quarters
Weaknesses:
  • Poor damage, accuracy, and range

Magazine Capacity: 20

Weapon Unlock: Level 1

Field Notes

  • Like most sidearms, the R-45 Autopistol is best utilized purely as a backup when your primary weapon is out of ammo—switching to your sidearm is always faster than reloading your primary. Due to its high rate of fire, it’s easy to drop nearby threats with a quick burst, particularly if they’re already injured or damaged. The weapon serves as a good complement to slow-firing, low-magazine-capacity weapons like the Kraber-AP Sniper.
  • Don’t try to hunt Pilots with this weapon unless you have the jump on your prey. While the RE-45 boasts a high rate of fire, it trails far behind in all other categories, putting you at a serious disadvantage while engaging enemy Pilots. That being said, the RE-45 is more than capable of finishing off an injured Pilot at close range. In this sense, the RE-45 is great for ending fights—just don’t start one with it.
  • While the RE-45 isn’t the most effective weapon against minions, taking the fight to close range against a squad of Grunts is undeniably fun. At close range the RE-45 can tear through Grunts at a rapid pace. However, exercise caution when engaging Spectres—they take a considerable amount of damage before dropping, exposing you to potentially deadly return fire.

Magazine Capacity: 12

Weapon Unlock: Level 1

Kill Shot Count

Field Notes

  • The Hammond P2011 has a very unique feature called the Match Trigger. This feature allows the player to take full use of this sidearm, because the faster you pull the trigger the faster bullets will fire. The Match Trigger makes this sidearm very versatile, allowing a player to do damage from a distance or up close once an enemy approaches.
  • With an accurate shot, the Hammond P2011 can take out a Pilot with three bullets to the head or four to the body. Players should focus on using their primaries when engaging with Pilots, but don’t doubt the Hammond P2011. Force Pilots to engage you in close-quarter areas, allowing you to take full use of the weapon’s Match Trigger.
  • Once again, the Match Trigger makes this sidearm deadly when wiping out minions. Aim for the head to take Grunts out quickly, conserving ammo and allowing you to wipe out minion squads with one magazine.
    Pro Tip: Flamesword

The Hammond P2011 is my preferred sidearm. It offers a great balance of range, accuracy, and damage output. Plus, the Match Trigger allows me to maintain a high rate of fire during frantic close quarter engagements.

B3 Wingman

The B3 Wingman is an extremely powerful revolver with very high accuracy out to long ranges. Precision aim is required to mitigate the disadvantages of its very low fire rate.

Strengths:
  • High damage
  • Long range
Weaknesses:
  • Limited magazine capacity
  • Slow rate of fire
Weapon Performance

Magazine Capacity: 6

Weapon Unlock: Level 27

Kill Shot Count

Field Notes

  • The B3 Wingman is noticeably stronger than the other sidearms. This sidearm deals a lot of damage and has great accuracy and incredible range. The only weaknesses to this weapon are its small magazine and slower rate of fire. Consider equipping this sidearm when carrying a short-range primary weapon like an SMG or shotgun—you’ll appreciate the range and accuracy of the Wingman even more.
  • The B3 Wingman only takes two shots to the body or one to head to kill an enemy Pilot. The other sidearms take at least four shots to the body or three to the head. If you can become accurate with this weapon, it is a beastly sidearm. Use this weapon only if your primary is running low or out of ammo. It’s a great one to catch a Pilot off guard in close quarters.
  • Against enemy minions this weapon is powerful, but gives away your position on the minimap. Keep your distance and pick off the minions at a longer range. All minions can be killed with a single shot, but you’ll need to aim for the head to one-shot a Spectre.
