You pick up the “Rats in the Cellar” side quest from Skeeter in Skeeter’s Bar and Cocktails on the far left side of Restaurant Row. They’ve run into health code violations because of really big rats in the basement. You look like a dungeon dweller, so Skeeter figures you’re the dude for clearing out the nest. He hands you Skeeter’s Cellar Key and sends you on your way.
Open the basement door and carefully descend. Four rat groups scurry about the basement. Run into one and they immediately attack. For some groups you can use an object in the environment to destroy them, while others must be exterminated through combat.
Give the first rat group a thrashing in combat. You start out fighting two Rabid Rats and one Mutant Rat. The Rabid Rats are easier, but you’ll need to pull out your special abilities to splatter the Mutant Rat.
Get the second rat group with the neon sign hanging on the wall. First, shatter the poison bottle on the pool table, then shoot the neon sign so that it falls into the liquid and electrocutes the rats.
Knock off the third group with the beer kegs. Wait until the rat group approaches and then smash the wooden crate beneath the kegs. The keg pile topples over and crushes the rats if you time it right.
Attack the final rat group in the back. You will have to kill two Demon Giant Rats this time. Follow the same tactics as during the first battle and chew down some snacks if your health gets low. This is the final battle for the quest, so don’t hold anything back. You can always stock up on goodies later.
Once you’ve removed the rat threat, return upstairs and speak with Skeeter. He thanks you and hands you the ranged Bar Darts as a reward for completing the side quest. He and the bartender also join you on social networking and up your friends total.
