Sunset Overdrive Official Strategy Guide Quests ACT 4

Theater Upgrade

DowntownPrerequisites: Complete “Getting the Band Back Together”

This is pretty straightforward. Floyd would like you to scrounge together some spare robot parts so he can upgrade the new theater fort, and you would probably like to destroy some Fizzbot patrols, leveling up weapons and earning lots of Cash and Overcharge in the process.

You can take the patrols on in whatever order you like, this order just conforms to their pattern on the map, since most patrols are found down the same stretch of Downtown drag. The first patrol, the farthest west, initially consists of four Rifle Bots backed by a turret at a checkpoint, but they’ll be joined by two Blade Bots and two Bomb Bots once you attack. These Bots are all fairly close together, so dropping several Hair Spray Bombs for multiple explosions in close quarters can be just as damaging to the assembled Bots as lightning damage.

Head east up the road and you’ll find the next patrol. This one is a fortified overpass, with Fizzco agents both above and below. There’s also usually a fair amount of OD here already engaged with Fizzco forces, so this is an old-fashioned mess.

The next patrol further east is another fortified intersection, with multiple turrets established and several Rifle Bots keeping watch. Open fire on this initial deployment and you’ll get a couple more of each normal Bot types dropping on top of the festivities. Between patrols, you have every opportunity to restock ammo from crates or fallen enemies or even from Two Hat Jack, so go nuts with Taunt Bot, Turret Copter, and Pulse Mine to make these fights more manageable.

The patrol furthest east on this road is the most fortified yet, with three turrets and lots of Bots around it. Apart from that, it’s no different than the others. Smash these robots, grab the guts, and move on.

Like the patrol before it, the northeastern checkpoint already brims with three turrets. And, as usual, when you draw their attention, more Fizzbots will drop in. Here, about three times as many Bots drop in to protect the checkpoint as with the others. The capper, though, is the Fizzco Tank Bot that joins toward the end. In this wide-open environment, you have lots of grind, bounce, and undergrind options while fighting the Tank Bot. Of course, it can also jet around, and may even end up hopping onto some of the lower rooftops. Destroy this final mech, grab the fifth piece of robot parts, and head back to Floyd to complete the Quest.
