HarborPrerequisites: Complete “To Fargarthia!”
Now that you’ve met the Fargarthians, you can start accepting Quests from some of them. In doing so, you can explore the Harbor a little bit while earning currencies and weapon EXP. This is the beginning of a three-part Quest chain. A red-cloaked Fargarthian tells of the “metallic golems” who placed “Crimson Watchers” around the district. These Watchers are steel controller discs that allow Fizzco to take control of devices, appliances, and structures. These controllers are shielded from ranged attacks like arrows or gunfire, but this shielding is ineffective against good old bludgeoning. You’ll have to find each Crimson Eye controller and physically break it.
The first “Crimson Eye” is found just south of Fargarthia, attached to a crane that’s just above a Fizzco lease sign. Be sure to tag the Fizzco sign, then vault up and smash the disc to proceed.
The disc here might be a little hard to spot at first. It’s attached to the back of a cart that is now driving circles around the crab shack! You can’t shoot the discs, and the Amp effects on melee attacks (like Spin Twister and Seismic Smash) won’t work either. You’ll have to hit the disc with a dead-on melee hit. Grind the wires above the crab shack, tracking the cart, until you can leap and dive bomb onto it from above, destroying the cart’s controller unit.
This Watcher is found up high, affixed to the back of a radar dish on top of this building. Vault to the top and do some dish unscrambling with your melee weapon. After breaking the controller off the dish, leap off this building and head southeast toward the controller at the marina.
The controller affixed to the marina is hidden in plain sight, halfway up along the south-facing side of the building. You might note that this area of the Harbor district is covered with a generous coat of idling OD, and it’s very easy to get an enormous crowd after you, whether intentionally or not. Weapons like TNTeddy and Hairspray Bomb can get quite a workout with crowds this thick lining the streets.
The final Watcher is attached to the top of the lighthouse on the southeast tip of Sunset City. You can’t get directly up there by vaulting up the sheer surface of the lighthouse, but you can use the harpoon launcher located at the end of the nearby pier to attach a grind-able line (like during the Mission “Max’s Parents”). Watch out when heading down the pier toward the harpoon—a Spawner and its attending OD will attack! Aside from having the Spawner and its OD dumpster-offspring to contend with, a horde of Poppers will rush the pier.
