HarborPrerequisites: Complete “A Hero’s Duty”
Now that you’ve proven your loyalty to both Fargarthia and the Oxfords by completing Act 3, you’ll have several opportunities to deepen your Fargarthian relationships. Visit Hardcore at Castle Fargarthia in Harbor to get this Quest started. He’ll point you toward a Foam Sword (pointing is really as descriptive as Hardcore can get), then head outside. This entire Quest occurs in the immediate vicinity of Castle Fargarthia.
At first, Hardcore merely wants you to bash everyday things with the sword. Run and grind around just outside the base, smashing flowerpots, crates, cars, newspaper vending machines, anything you can find. After the vending machine is destroyed, you’ll notice a herd of Poppers rounding the corner. Meet them head-on; it’ll only take swinging at one or two of them to blow the whole bunch because of the way they pop with splash damage upon death.
Next, Hardcore wants you to prove how hardcore you can be with a crossbow. As you’re about to see, this is the hardest-core crossbow the world has ever seen. Hardcore has catapults launch explosive barrels at the tennis court, and you’ve got to shoot them out of the sky. You’ll quickly realize those barrels aren’t the only things in the air. There are pigeon flocks, planes, an enormous Fizzco dirigible, and even an extraterrestrial presence. Your hardcore crossbow will avail you; try to shoot at barrels and aircraft so that the explosion spreads between airborne objects.
Your crossbow skills proven, there’s only one thing left to do: have a mano-a-mano struggle to the death with Hardcore at the gas station. Well, maybe not to the death. Actually, no damage is dealt or received during this fight, and the gas station can be immediately exploded at the beginning of the fight.
