Sunset Overdrive Official Strategy Guide Quests ACT 4

It's Personal

DowntownPrerequisites: Complete “Las Catrinas”

One of Las Catrinas is worried about her dad, who hasn’t contacted her in weeks now. She wants you to start by checking out his apartment, which is a top-level unit in Downtown, west from the hospital.

When you find Hector’s place, you’ll find fish carcasses strewn about, but no Hector. Then, a patrol of Fizzco Bots find you, dropping in to attack. Survive the Fizzco ambush then report back to La Catrina about the situation. The best lead she has next is her brother, who happens to be a LARPer. You know where that means he must be.

Your next stop is Castle Fargarthia in the Harbor district, where La Catrina’s brother must surely be. Speak to Squire Robert and he’ll say that he thinks his dad was on the way to work. That’s dedication. Hector worked at Fizzco. Where else does anyone work around here?

Hector worked along the back end of the Fizzco campus, which hangs above the water off the north side of Downtown. You’ll have to search back here for signs of Robbie’s and La Catrina’s dad. At the northeast tip of the site, you’ll find a telltale giveaway: more barbequed fish. Maybe Hector lives? Search the compartments back here for any sign.

The compartment marked 06 is the one you want. Examine it and you’ll find that Hector is alive—he’s actually in an escape capsule that failed to eject. You’ll need to set off a couple “apocalypse alarms” nearby to trigger his release.

The first sensor is at street level nearby, just under a holographic Fizzco sign. You’ll need to continually massacre enemies close to the sensor in order to gradually build up the Apocalypse Meter. When it’s maxed, you’ll hear klaxons blaring, Fizzco’s alarms finally tripped much later than they actually should have, given the circumstances. The enemies around the sensor include a Spawner and groups of OD. To ensure that they’re in range for the Apocalypse Meter when you mush whole groups of them, consider launching a Captain Ahab spear into the ground near the sensor.

The second sensor is southwest on a rooftop, surrounded by somewhat more dangerous forces. A Winger nests up here, and there are Fizzco Bots patrolling and OD shambling along. The sensor itself is situated near some pleasant outdoor seating, with several umbrellas and awnings conveniently arrayed nearby for you to bounce back and forth on. As with the other sensor, constant kills near it are required to build the Apocalypse Meter. Fill the meter to raise this second alarm and Fizzco’s dorms will finally go into alert, ejecting Hector almost three weeks too late. So is it time to give La Catrina and Robbie the good news?
