Old Factory District
Return to Floyd and he’ll let you know that glider maintenance doesn’t have to be as difficult as it seems. He suggests that the hardest part will be the propeller, and you decide that you might find just that at the Crown Blades Factory in north Old Factory District.
Enter through the front gates of the factory and you’ll see a survivor across the yard to the north being chased by OD. Run quickly through the yard to where the kid was seen and you’ll find the way he went blocked, but you can circle around above the water. Pole swing repeatedly and grind across the flagpoles and wires that lead over the water.
Once you’ve pole swung over the water and returned to solid ground on the east side of the factory grounds, the kid will lead you on a clockwise chase around the U-shaped interior yard. He’ll hide by pulling a garage shutter closed and he won’t come out until you clear out all the OD he just stirred up. Once you clear them all out, the kid will introduce himself as Sam.
Sam claims to be some kind of help in finding a replacement propeller. You must escort him out of the factory, but a new type of OD shows up: the Blower, who fires balls of green gunk from afar, and can even accurately lead you when you’re grinding around. You’ll have to start keeping a keen eye out for the red circles that indicate the impact area for a Blower’s noxious green leaf-blower wads. If you end up getting hit, their wads will knock you out of your current grind (or undergrind, or wall run, or whatever). Protect Sam and clear out the Blowers, along with some standard-issue OD.
When the Blowers are all killed, Sam will run to the north end of the yard, up some stairs, and into a skybridge that leads back to the entry yard. OD will jump him on the bridge, so watch his back. Back in the entry yard, will you have to protect Sam from OD again? Is water wet?
Eventually, OD will bust through a barricade that separated the factory’s two yards. Clear them out and the path is clear for you and Sam to access the train sitting idle in the factory’s loading bay.
Clear out the oncoming OD and hop atop the train when Sam gets it running. He’ll take you both on a short train ride south, directly through a war-in-progress between Scabs and OD! Stay on the train; at the end of the journey, which only takes about one minute, Sam will disembark and show you into his hideout, the Sasquatch and Friends pizzeria.
